I thought the Napa penalty and sin bin was a shocker. Napa tried to put a huge shot on, Sims stepped to avoid Napa, and they accidently clashed heads. Was just unfortunate contact that sometimes happens in league.

Reducing the Roosters to 12 men had a big outcome on the game and Napa being taken out of the middle of the defence gave Isaako a big advantage to score that try.

I'm happy to get the win but we were certainly helped by that refereeing decision.

Yeah, it feels like every team this year has exploited it at least once or twice each against us. Do they just have no faith in in defensive line? Or is it becaise Boyd already seems to really struggle with the bouncing ball.
He literally can't bend over. Completely useless at fullback. Maybe move him to centre or wing, or dump him all together. I really hope when he isn't picked for QLD he realises he sucks and just retires.

I Think penalty was fair, not sure about the send off. Him and JWH were being dirty all night though so I think it may have been a case of 'enough is enough' sort of thing because it was getting a bit ridiculous.

Sims didn’t knock the ball on. Why do the media and other fans keep saying this? They realise there is footage right?
Never let the truth get in the way of a great ‘clickbait’ article written by ‘professional sports’ writers.

Su'a - 7
Mixed bag due to a few mistakes, but also forcing them on the opposition with stinging defense and running with purpose. I think a try was taken off him, as he was pushed before taking possession of the ball. Should've been a penalty, not a 7 tackles set for the *****.

Looking at it frame by frame it was simultaneous which is fair enough. Su'A just made a complete meal of it. He should have still scored it quite easily.

He had a chance to grab the ball before Manu made contact and just misjudged it.

I had two Roosters fans sitting in front of me all night long and it was giving me the shits.

They were crowing and bragging all night long. Carrying on that the Roosters are going to run away with the game after Cordner scored.

When Isaako scored, I've never seen someone leave so quickly..

I hope you did the polite thing and gave them a gracious send off

Nah, that's bullshit, his arm was pushed as he was grabbing the ball. Trying to blame the kid for that under the circumstances is not only harsh, it's totally unfair.

In regards to the decision by the refs, I'm not crucifying them for it, because it was indeed very close.
Admittedly, my bias may be getting in the way, but I stand by my opinion that it was a penalty...

The replays don't support your argument that it's a penalty. Once Su'A made contact with that ball it was fair game, unfortunately.

As for saying it's unfair to criticize him, well he had a fair crack at that ball before contact was even made and he simply misjudged it. It should have been quite simple, reach out, grab it and plant it down.

Please just stop. This is the moment Manu makes contact with Su'a, with the ball still in the air:

I'm not going to continue this silly nitpicking discussion. You have your interpretation, I have mine.

Mate I have to call this, you're always going the contrary opinion I think you're on here shit stirring. How can you say the Napa tackle was not a penalty. You can't make contact with the opponents head careless reckless or deliberate. That is the rule.
Also if you slow down the video he clenches both fists bracing for impact so at best he was going the shoulder charge .

I think he was saying the sin-bin was harsh, which I tend to agree with, as I don't think it was a deliberate "head tackle".

I have no doubt it's a penalty though, and I agree he was going for a shoulder charge (albeit with arms wide open, which makes it more awkward).

P.S. That said, the way the refs are sinbinning people at will in the Tits game, it might be the new referee point of focus...

I think you need glasses.

For starters, that is not the point where Manu first makes contact.

Secondly, the screenshot I posted above clearly shows Su'A making contact with the ball while playing at it before Manu's hands even touch him. I'll even post another one that clearly shows it.

Once Su'A made contact with that ball, the contact from Manu was fair game. Su'A does NOT need to grab the ball before Manu can make contact.

It is not a penalty, and Su'A made a meal of it as it clearly shows in the replay he had a fair crack at the ball before Manu even touched him. Your bias is just simply getting in the way of this one.

tbf to Daniel he was talking him up before anybody else knew who he was. Let's give him this one.

Brings his record to 1/48674938574739584

Whats really encouraging is that staggs didn't really play footy seriously until 14/15. To have the commitment and maturity he does at his age, especially given where he comes from (Wellington NSW, where 90% of teen boys end up in juvie, and /or have AOD addictions, or at best -hanging round KFC being pests as there isn't much else to do) he has done very well and is a real credit to him and his family.
