How on earth do you drop two people from that backline next week? Unless there is a spare spot in the forwards for Oates.
Pearson and staggs are guns. I suspect Staggs will get a bench spot if fit. 1000% better than opacic

Come on, Pearson and Staggs are good but they don't compare to Roberts and Oates.

If Roberts were playing, we win by more.

Sorry, wasn't suggesting they shouldn't be dropped but difficult because they are deserving of spots

I would reward Staggs with a spot at left centre. I do think he provides more than Kahu in attack. He hasn't been tested much defensively during his time, but I think he could handle it.

1. Darius Boyd - I was actually quite impressed with him tonight. He was safe as houses under the high ball, ran hard to return the ball and was visibly barking orders in the huddle. Here's hoping he's turned a corner. 7
2. Jonus Pearson - Returned from a long absence from 1st grade and thankfully left the ice skates at home. His big hit in defence in the first half was a bell ringer, he ran hard all night with zero errors and scored a great try in the 2nd. Very happy for him but he's got some heated competition in the backline. 7
17. Kotoni Staggs - What a find this guy has been. So far he's had 2 very good games with solid performances in between and he still stood out despite being gone early. By all rights he should be a starter. 8
4. Jordan Kahu - I loved his tip on for Pearsons try but considering his overall form and the traffic jam of backline talent we're dealing with, it's getting hard to find a spot for him. Should be replaced by Staggs but we know Bennett will pick experience first. 6
5. Jamayne Isaako - He's the Dally M rookie of the year and at this point it's beyond argument. He doesn't seem to have much pace in open field but he knows how to do a kick return and his goal kicking is beautiful to watch. By seasons end he'll be one of only 8 players in the history of the comp to score 150+ points in his rookie year. 9
6. Anthony Milford - Thaaaaat's better Milf. Ran the ball with more intent and his long kicking seems to be reaching an at least serviceable point. As long as he's scaring the shit out of the opposition, it doesn't matter if he doesn't score 3 tries a game. 7
7. Kodi Nikorima - Apart from giving away some lazy penalties in the ruck, I was actually pretty happy with him. Dare I say he even showed signs of good game management, kicking for touch at the end of sets when we already have an unassailable lead. 7
8. Matthew Lodge - Our best Prop of the game and that's saying a lot. Ran a tonne of metres, a lot of which post contact and defended like a machine. What more could you ask for from a number 8? 9
11. Alex Glenn - Admittedly did a pretty solid job covering the 9. His service was swift and he defended the ruck pretty well. Obviously not his position going forward but its nice knowing we have some options now. 7
10. Sam Thaiday - Seems to have gone up a gear since announcing his retirement. Ran and defended hard all game. Can't complain about anything really. 6
15. Tevita Pangai Jnr - Had a quiet first 30 minutes but as soon as he found his feet returning from injury, it was another quality TPJ performance. I can't wait to see where this guy is at another 50 games down the line. 7
12. Jaydn Su'a - In an all round quality front row performance across the board, I thought he had a pretty quiet night. The likes of Lodge, TPJ and Joe O overshadowed him a bit but his defence is some good shit. Another one who is gonna be an absolute gun with another 50 or so games tallied. 6
13. Joe Ofahengaue - Is quickly establishing himself as one of the form forwards of the comp. Consistency used to be his biggest issue by far and he's completely quashed it as a problem. Every game for the last 10 rounds he has at least been solid. He'll be wearing Maroon next year if Walters isn't brain dead. Very happy for him. 8

9. Jake Turpin - FINALLY, someone to start asking big questions of McC. A solid as **** debut in a tough position. His service was good, his defence was good. I'd have him as a regular on the bench straight away just to scare McC straight. 6
14. Patrick Mago - Made a couple of silly errors but otherwise he's not shaming himself. Happy to leave him as a bench forward at least until the end of the season but the competition for spots is hot. 5
16. Korbin Sims - Made a beautiful linebreak in the 2nd half only to ruin it by not passing to Milf who was supporting on the inside. He was the least impressive forward of the night but hardly terrible. 5
19. David Fifita - I can see what the hype is about with this kid. Finally a Fifita in the NRL we can cheer for. Him and Haas are gonna be the bench back bone of this side from next year onwards. 7

WOW!!! what a win? My wish of flogging these 1 game a season performers came true. The most pleasing part about the win is, it's a total team effort. Everyone from 1-17 contributed to the win. With some main stay players injured, other's gone to Origin duty, the lads were still performed the way they did is, truly remarkable. I hope the poachers don't pay too much attention into our depth but with the way we're playing, we are very very vulnerable.

No doubt the win over Raiders have instilled some confidence in the team. Everyone seemed to be eager and more focused which is what's needed towards the back-end of the season. For mine, the next 3 home games define our top 4 place. Playing @home is a big bonus for us and hope we come out on top in every game going into September.

To all the smart people out there who predicted (always bag) that we WILL NOT be in top 8 again - eat your shit! Our march to Premiership has started & this time, it's ours for taking. Sure, we don't have a ' proper 7' & we don't have a 'Game Manager' yet, we would get the job done with the team we have.

It’s been years and I’m still waiting for proof about the slow service but sure, let’s go with that.

Every game he’s ever played isn’t enough proof? Well if it isn’t, compare the 9 in blue to the 9 in maroon next Wednesday night, it’s a pretty good indicator of where Macca is glaringly lacking and has been all his career.

No one should ever doubt his effort and commitment, he’s one of the hardest working players probably in the history of the game, he’s gotten every ounce of his potential out of himself, it is just never going to be anything other than what it is - gun defender, below average attack.

If Roberts were playing, we win by more.

If Roberts was playing we wouldve scored 60+ he loves that type of defense of the titans!

Just saying McCullough is slow doesn't mean his service is slow. His service is fine but it might slow down in the last ten to twenty minutes. These fast hookers are enigmas. Only one team has won a premiership with one over the last few years and that's because their opposition fell over in the last second.

Although his service is occasionally slow and not to the chest, it's more that he just doesn't read what's in front of him well - he sends the ball the wrong way far too often.

You obviously don't watch him closely enough. You can criticise McCullough on a lot of things, but to say his passes aren't to/on the chest is one you cannot. Watch him more closely next time, his passing (after his defence) is his strongest asset. You can debate the speed of service of pass, but not the quality. That's just criticising something for the sake of it. If you actually watch yesterday's game there were many times that Turpin looked like a lost dog chasing his tail as he looked for options. At least twice I remember him running backwards to find an option.

McCullough's game has improved this season and in particular since Origin 1. Watch him now deliver crisp passes, 3 or 4 wide off the ground. I'm sure if McCullough was playing yesterday off the back of that forward pack and delivered a man of the match performance there'd still be criticism of his game.

It was Turpin's first game, and he was fine. Plenty of times Milf and Kodi have had to reach for Macca's passes, and my actual key point, in the attacking zone, Macca often sends the ball the wrong way (leaving Milf, usually, flapping his arms in frustration). Some of you blokes on here need to learn to accept valid criticism to your darlings. No doubt Macca has improved, but it's been a recurring fault of his as long as I've seen him play. Lack of vision.

The last 4 premiers had hookers that are quick out of dummy half and provided quick service.

They were all crucial parts of their success.
