Still frustrating that we have someone with the strike of Roberts out in the centres, yet we use him as if he has the attacking ability of jack reed. Surely our spine could manufacture some more opportunities to get him one on one with his defender, or at least running onto a ball with some room to move. Unsure of who’s to blame though.

I think this was a game they really dug in deep for. They were gifted some early points and were the better team for the 1st 20, then allowed south sydney to build some momentum with repeat sets. That weight of defence came to bite them and souths came roaring back, but the injection of sims really gave them some self-belief (he is going to be a good player for st george, not that you can keep them all) and they ran with it.
This team is a forward leader short of a premiership. I'm not complaining because thats the way it is with a young pack. but when the likes of tevita and offa (already one of our best) gain some self-confidence they will fill that role and woe behold our opponents. We are probably well short of success this year based on the season, but come next year, give some team stablility, I see us top four easily.
On a side note I though knik tackled really well tonight. Its not easy for a small guy against that pack but he really held his own. A well deserved try for him in the end too. He was one of our best and a very good kicking display from our halves (worth noting).

Proud, Few Souths supporters were giving me shit throughout the week good to stick it to them, and Brighten my spirits again.

I will enjoy this win.

We need to Fix our defense on the edges though, we looked so leaky here and that is where they got there trys.
Not be so crazy throwing the ball at times as well as i mentioned in the live chat.
Milfs kicking game is gone a mile lately, he started taking the line on as well, good to see looks damaging like his 2015 self when he does that.

Just need to not panic when the pressure is on. Milford just needs to step up and keep making those sweet kicks. Even kick it into touch sometimes to settle things down.

His kicking game tonight in general was pretty sweet. I didn't sense any real panic, which was encouraging. And Kodi ran the pill, also sweet.

I honestly think it's largely Roberts' fault. They failed to use him in Origin too. I think it's because he just struggles playing with any sort of structure. He pretty much relies on getting the ball early and trying to run around the opposition. He needs to learn to hit holes.

I reckon that was Milford's best performance since 2015 honestly, not super flashy shit, but just a great all around game. 0 errors, 0 penalties conceded, 0 kicks dead, 0 missed tackles. Probably the first time in his career that's happened.

I dunno... a sure sign of the team clocking off and trying to close it out is when they start kicking it for touch with far too much time on the clock.

At times definitely need to kick it dead but I like that we kept it in play almost all night and just held them down their end with good kick chase

No one is probably watching the footy show, they have JT on and he keeps laughing at nothing. quite funny

Exactly. Been thinking this since he got to the Broncs. Lots of talent but I don't think he can read a situation to save his life........in both attack and defence. Very rarely hits a hole.

This is what frustrates me about the Broncos.

They have these performances in them. They were shot in that second half and found a way back in it and ran away with it. They are capable of so much more but we just aren't seeing that enough.

A good win. That should get some confidence back but all of that defending is going to take a lot out of them and the Roosters have an easy game this week.
I reckon the Raiders are going to do the Chooks.

I just think in those situations where we're defending set after set then struggle to make any metres the ball should be kicked into touch to give everyone a breather.

Glad to get a win against a good side, but we need to build on it.

First, something is gotta be done about the drifting in and out of games. You can't go to sleep for 40+ minutes a game.
Second, we gotta cut out the dumb penalties. I know some are the shitty evening up ones, but not ALL of them. We just seem to get too cocky in defence when we have a lead. Gotta cut that shit out.

On a positive side, TPJ is a monster. Oates is Goates. Thaiday somehow picked up over 100m!? Is that an error?
That’s his collective 2018 stat.

Nah, credit where it’s due, he worked hard while he was on.

Our flaws were still pretty evident, but we played a better brand of football tonight and kept attacking at 24-18 rather than the one-out crap that leads to the opposition starting their sets on the halfway line. Tonight made me feel better about the way I spend my spare time.
