I don't know how you would think what I said suggests that at all lol. I'm saying their tactics of signing youth and no experience is an issue because we will never see these talented young players play together.

I thought it because you've said now 10000 times, pick kids, then picked a team of random kids in the thread for the next game.

I've said give Dearden or O Sullivan a go. Not pick 10 kids in the team. I suggest giving them a go because theres two outcomes really. 1 they absolutely kill it and show they deserve the spot or 2. they don't do great but it gives Nikorima/Milford a rocket showing they need to perform or be dropped.

Because as it stands, Nikorima, Milford, Boyd and Macca appear to have no risk of being dropped, are all signed for a couple of years and just have no real incentive to put their body on the line and lift their game. Giving O' Sullivan or Dearden a go in place of Nikorima will mean Nikorima goes to the bench, which he doesn't want to do so he will probably try harder, If he tries harder then that puts Milford and Macca at risk of losing their spot to Nikorima. So they would also likely perform better. The teams that do well tend to be the ones where people are putting pressure on them for their spots. At the moment we don't appear to have that.

Except his passes were once again extremely slow and mostly just one out passes. He needs to throw long passes off the ground with some velocity. Currently he picks it up, goes for a little stroll and then throws a looping pass in slow motion. By the time it gets to the intended target, the defenders are already standing on top of the receiver. All the better hookers in the game, they can get the ball from point A to point B quickly, which gets the ball a good 40 meters away from the ruck in as little as two passes. This allows for quick shifts from one side of the field to the other. With McCullough, and our halves for that matter, that can't happen.
LOL!

Geez what a bad first attempt from Bird. At least he chased, I guess. He's still looking like a massive dud signing for his price. **** I wish we found Staggs sooner.

At least we can be happy that Chrichton is looking even more like a dud for a possibly even higher price.

Lol, why are we twats? Because we have a different point of view to you? You may call me whatever you like, that's really your problem and it shows the type of person you are when someone doesn't agree with you or look at things the same way.

I won't resort to calling you names mate, you're doing a great job yourself showing us your attitude but what it comes down to is difference of opinion. You justify why we are playing poorly, I don't. You make excuses for whatever reason, I don't. We are the worst most underachieving team in the NRL at the moment. Facts. That may change by the end of this season and I hope it does.

Why people are still discussing Wayne Bennett is beyond me. He is gone. Alot of people wanted him gone so be happy. Move on. If we were going great, people would be saying see, it was a great decision to let Wayne go, and now we are going horrible so people use the excuse it's all Wayne's fault, lol. Would we be going better or worse if Wayne was here? I don't know. Nobody knows for sure. I don't deal in hypotheticals, I deal in reality. At the moment, we are worse than we have been since 1999 and it doesn't look like getting better.

Live in a fools paradise, call us twats, call us whatever you like to justify your own excuses and to make yourself feel better but it doesn't change the fact the Broncos are currently the worst team in the NRL. This is a fact. Can we improve and get better? Honestly, it can't get much worse. So yeah, we can get better. I like reading everyone's opinion and don't get into arguments and name calling, that's just not my style but at the end of the day, I'm pretty sure we all want the same thing and that's for the Broncos to be a premiership contender and a top 4 team.

Haha he deleted his post. Honestly some of the people in here are ridiculous. I can see why they resort to an anonymous message board and refrain from using facebook etc.

Our worst ever start with a squad predicted by most to be a top 4 team does back up my position

That’s today. You’ve forgotten you were full of cheer when we flogged the cowboys, when we start winning lets hope you attribute the success as much to Siebold as you apportion blame to him, eh?

Yes, that was the exact point I was making. You gave Bennett a few years though during his second stint, as an adult, I assume? You mentioned that they were mentally cooked after the grand final loss and they regressed under Bennett from that point onwards. The club likely saw this and brought in the best possible candidate for the job. I'll ask you again, will you afford him the same amount of time to win a premiership?

Second stint? He had Alfie Langer, Wally Lewis and Kerrod Walters in his spine in his FIRST stint and it still took him 4 YEARS to win a premiership...

But any other coach is obviously a failure after only 6 games with a far weaker spine...

Yeah I think I'm starting to identify the issue that we have, and it is very similar to that of the Panthers. Both the Broncos and Panthers spend a lot of money on developing younger players. In the 90s and 2000s, the Broncos would have good juniors who would stick around on little money because it was 'The Broncos' and learn their trade under the main squad. This is when the whole 'Baby Broncos' phrase came about. The issue now that we are facing is that we are spending a lot of money k eeping these juniors (Haas, Fifita, TPJ etc.) so that other clubs don't poach them. The only issue is, we have them for a few years, they play some first grade, and then another club comes in and takes them from us on an offer we simply can't match. I.E. Wallace, Taylor, Arrow in the past couple of years. If you look at other regular first graders who were broncos juniors/ played for the broncos the list is a mile long. Granville, Kahu, McGuire, Korbin Sims, Ashton Sims (superleage now), Tariq Sims, Ben Hunt, Corey Norman, Ese'Ese, Ash Taylor, Jarrod Wallace, Jai Arrow, Dale Copley, Dane Gagai, Corey Allan, Francis Molo and probably others.

This strategy of building up youth has failed the panthers too where they are about 10 years in to a 5 year plan and still no closer to a premiership. The teams who have paid big on players potential are the teams who are under performing. Knights, Broncos, Titans, Panthers and Parra are all guilty of this.

After listening to seibolds press conference it was concerning to hear him say this is the direction the club is going. Juniors aren't the answer because when they hit their peak in their mid 20s, they are off contract and leave.

Fair points but none ended up at the roosters or storm. I think our program has been sub standard for a decade or more and the stats don’t lie with our top 2 finishes. It pains me to say it but looks like a full rebuild is on the cards.

Watched the game again. It’s like our spine plays in slow motion. No one has any aggression to lift the team either. No direction. Our experience on the park are not really doing any better than our inexperienced. Our second rowers are providing very little in attack and creating no second phase opportunities. It’s just one out footy and it’s so lack lustre and frustrating.

The only player change I'd like to see is Boyd.
We get nothing from him.
As far as our halves go lets see what happens when we start playing with less errors and get our tackle effectiveness where it should be. ATM we have 5 of the top 11 in ineffective tackles including the top 3. That puts our whole defensive structure under massive pressure .

I haven’t forgotten that at all.

Winning a game here or there would be nice and I’ll be sure to pump seibs tyres up if that happens.

Opinions (in bold) are not facts. Maybe you should start with that.

What is a fact is that this roster is Bennett's work, especially the mess that is our spine, which is comfortably one of the worst in the NRL.
Would we be better or worse off with him at the moment? That's impossible to say, but what is also a fact is that we were getting worse every year under Wayne since 2015, when he inherited a team from Anthony Griffin.

Who's worse than us? Newcastle? Maybe.

Can't wait for you to praise Bennett when our junior halves that he definitely signed himself start playing first grade and winning games for us

We haven't played 2 thirds of the competition. We'll find out once we do.
Until then, you're only speaking from your own perspective.
