Forwards all stood tall today. Combo of fifita and TPJ in the second row was awesome. They were just dangerous which gave room to the outside.

I know fifita prefered the right hand side but he looked dangerous cutting back in across the line. If only he had support on those occasions.

If they could make that consistent, they would have to be starters.

Also happy for isaako, macca, staggs and carrigan who i thought had their best match of the season.
No mention of Boyd who played well...again.

We're going to be alright. That kick of Boyd's for Oates was spot on. Milf is getting to play deeper and play first or second receiver on both sides whenever he wants but especially in the opposition 20, you'd have to think that will worry any team we play. He was supporting more as well, ready to take an offload off TPJ. After the game TPJ said Milf wanted him running hard first and then looking for the offload so that was good to hear.

There are going to be good days ahead so long as this forward pack keeps rolling forward. Dearden back, Bird next year. Gillett was beginning to look the goods again when he was running off Dearden and that defensive edge was rock solid with him and Dearden there.

O'Sullivan is a handy option, whether Turpin will go back to sharing the hooking with Macca or stay on as 7 who knows, this season has not been predictable by any means.

Boyd had some nice touches tonight but I would like to see him get more involved. There were several sets when we were in their 20m and Boyd didn't touch the ball a single time in the set. That's very concerning, particularly with Turpin at 7. I hope Dearden comes back soon. Turpin is a defensive liability at 7 and its cost us on several occasions the past few weeks.

In an ideal world, Dearden comes back with Turpin to 9, seggy on the bench and Macca dropped. We are still undefeated with seggy.

He was fine. Wouldn't say he played 'well'. He had some good touches without doubt but he drifts in and out of the game. Way too many sets where he didn't touch the ball at all. Not good enough for a 5/8th with over 300 games experience... He had less touches than Turpin.

Meh, it was the Bulldogs but I for one am very very happy about that result.

They are a bogey side for us and there were periods of the game where just a few weeks ago we would have collapsed and allowed them to get over the top of us but we didn't let that happen.

We don't usually torch the Bulldogs at Suncorp so I'm very happy about the result.

The pleasing thing is we built on last week and we played a high energy game which produced some of our best attack of the year. Now we just need to take a lot of confidence from that and keep it going. Keep building and getting better.

A rare bright night in a terrible season. A very strong performance and they were never headed by a team that is still a spoon favorite. It wasn't a high calibre game by any stretch of the imagination but I will take any positives when there have been so few this year. I still like the look of that Kennedy guy. He may play a bigger role in the seasons to come. Boyd and Macca were terrific and Staggs had his best game to date. This team still might trump that horrible record of 2013.

I shudder to think the value he is gonna command on the open market by the time he is off contract. We're gonna need to be PREPARED salary cap wise to be competitive enough to keep him. It's just beyond question. He must be a one club player.

Agree. No, fucking 2 ways about it. Haas along with Joffa, DaFifi, Flegler, Carrigan, Staggs, Herbie, Oates & Coates must all be made 1 club players. I reckon it's near impossible to keep all of them here but would work wonders if they all stay here till they finish their careers.

My Sharks mate tells me that Birdy won't be here next year with a plan already in place to move on in the off season. He claims we'll pay a bit but not a lot as Bird is seen as quality and will attract a good offer if one hasn't already been made. He(my mate) has a lifetime connection with the shire and gets his info from someone with a close connection down south. Something about Dugan moving on or out or over to England for a payday.

I'm not claiming it's golden, it's just interesting.

Same bulldog side that beat the knights last week?
The Knights are hardly a gun side. They will make up the numbers come Sept but are not a title contender even in the slightest.

I don't know about joffa. He's experienced enough now and should offer more than he does imo.

Yet a great kick and a vital part in two tries plus really solid defence and great anticipation to shut down attacks. It should be noted that he wasn't receiving the ball from a recognized halfback. I thought he was very involved.

Were you at the game? It really paints a different picture. Particularly in the first half. He basically just stood out on the edge.

Not sure what's going on with Oates but he's been off a bit since Game 1.

He wasn't bad tonight but he wasn't as good as he usually is. He seems to have lost a bit of pace, as well.

Interesting to see what we do with Gillett and Glenn heading into next year.

I'd be inclined to move them on and let Fifita and TPJ develop on the edges and the forward pack develop together as a whole.

Not saying I want to get rid of Glenn and Gillett, just wondering what the best course of action is in the shorter term.

Braveheart was at the game tonight. The Bulldogs fan that dresses up like William Wallace from Braveheart.

He was very vocal before and at the start of the game but went quiet pretty damn quick. Fans were ripping into him all night.

We had a Bulldogs fan in front of us and we were giving him shit all night and he was returning serve, as well. All just a bit of fun.

On a negative side, there was a guy that brought his kid and complained all night. If you're going to bring your kid to the footy, you can't sit there and complain about the way other fans are acting, especially when those fans have been drinking. No one went overboard with it. He was just being a douche.

Fairweather fans are like that. They get the cheap drinking section tickets and wonder why people are loud and swearing. Meanwhile you're there trying to have a good time and vent the work week away. Suncorp should inform people better about the drinking sections though.
