Chances are the Storm are just trying to fark with us as usual, just having a laugh, sending Brodie out to chat with Seibs, waste our time, let the media build it up, then finally announce he is staying with the Storm.

Sound familiar?

18+ sign on the front door, they might have been having slap, trying to find that gold, ya never know!

That was his test. If got the feature in under an hour it shows that he was better than the other halves he has at the club at the moment cause they obviously didn't win anything two weeks ago.

Not a massive fan.

Reasonably accurate kicking game, but it's so unbelievably slow and predictable, throw that in with our slow service out of dummy half and you've got yourself a good old fashion shit show.
Ok. Sounds like an avoid.

Here's the thing..

I totally agree that Sezer looks good aesthetically, I've spoken about us looking at signing him a few times in the past. However, if you take his numbers for what they are, they're all pointing to him being a below average Halfback in the NRL.

I know that numbers aren't the be all end all for halves, and I certainly wouldn't chuck a hissy fit if we did sign him, but seriously... it's almost alarming how few attacking stats Sezer is involved in for being in such a good attacking side.

16 games - 3 tries, 5 try assists, 1 line-break assist & 7 forced drop-outs

Those are NOT the numbers of someone we should be targeting to run our football side, there's several other options I would prefer, we need someone who can reliably set up tries & force drop outs, not someone who has an aesthetically pleasing game. I've also posted this before, but Sezer has only finished a season with double digit try assists ONCE in his entire career, that was 6 years ago at the Titans.

Alternatives who produced better numbers this year and have produced better numbers throughout their career and might be available - Foran, Townsend, Johnson, Norman, Green.

Out of those players I think the best 2 options, objectively, are Foran & Johnson. If we're going to sign someone, it should be someone who is absolutely going to improve our football team, not someone who might give us 75% of what we had with Ben Hunt.

Just as an aside, after the latest round of Croft rumours, I think he's equally as below average, and the stats back that up -

22 games - 5 tries, 5 try assists, 2 line-break assists & 8 forced drop-outs

But, I would sooner take a flyer on a 22 year old than a 28 year old. So, Croft has my vote, even if he is a stop-gap until Dearden / Paix / Walsh come of age.

He does have to play third fiddle at the storm though.

Ben Hunt all but won us a Premiership alongside Milford, who was a much less complete ballplayer then than he is now. The other big difference is he comes at about 25-30% of Ben Hunt's salary.

Correct, I don't think he would be ideal, but that's not got anything to do with his numbers at Melbourne this year and last. He was badly shafted by the tactics down there and his numbers reflect that far more than they reflect his ability.

Im neither here nor there on the potential signing but think we do need to sign someone and he’s probably the best of an average bunch. Just hope it’s a two year contract for like $300k and not a mega contract.

What are his stats when Munster and/or Smith are out of the side? The storm also love that left hand side of the field (for good reason with Munster, Kbrom, JAC on it).
