Would you do this?

Send Milf to Melbourne and get Grant.

That way, from next year you've got:

1. Niu
6. Dearden
7. Croft
9. Grant

If anyone is going to get the best out of Milf, it is Bellamy. I fear Milf is too badly broken by his last coach.

it still early days with Grant as a first grade hooker, i'd want to see more of him before i'd make that deal

It is a fair point and I am not totally convinced I'd do it without something else coming back the Broncs way BUT they need a halfback/five-eighth and Milf still has good in him, he just needs one of the very best to get it back out of him, someone who is a drill sargeant, ala Maguie, Bellamy or Robinson. Plus the Storm already have B.Smith as a 9. The deal is a no-brainer for them.

The Broncs on the other hand have Dearden who couldn't play any worse than Milf has in the last two weeks at least AND can defend. Dearden also runs it, something Milf doesn't anymore. Broncs need a gun 9. Turps could be good but doubt he will be a great.

Yeah I probably would. At this point in time I’d be more confident of getting more out of Grant and Dearden than Milford.

Wouldn't even think twice. Milford is looking yet again like a bust and would need something extraordinary to turn it around at this point.

Just to put things in perspective with Milford:

Milford last week played 80 minutes for 0 tries, 0 try assists, 0 line breaks, 0 line break assists, 0 tackle breaks, 2 offloads, 10 tackles with 4 missed tackles and 1 ineffective tackles, 173 kick metres with 0 forced dropouts, 1 error and 1 penalty conceded.

Essentially, on balance that means in Round 4 he statistically just barely managed to have a bigger impact on Brisbane's result than Tom Dearden, who didn't play at all for us, or Harry Grant for that matter, who actually played for the Tigers in a totally different game.

Reports from Chris Garry and 7news Fifita set to re-sign, for a season and will go from there for a longterm deal.

Article from Chris Garry also saying that the Broncos are all in on Dearden. They say that he's the future star of the club, not Milford or Croft.

Reading through the lines the article was saying that Milford won't be re-signed unless something drastic changes in his form and Dearden could replace him as early as next week.

That's what I want to hear AND from a reliable source.

The thing is anyone can put that together... all three of them come off contract at the same time, so the Broncos can choose which 2 out of 3 they want as their starting halves.

Unless you're NSWRL media and looking to create a headline that 70% of the league population won't bother to look into themselves.

Soon they'll throw out the someone has offered $700k for Dearden to give NSW the ammunition to be outraged when he re-signs... even though he has a contract next year and no one should be able to offer him anything

If that’s the case you’d imagine they try and offload him over the offseason.

If we're keeping Dearden over Milford then I'd rather see Dearden replace him this season, given there's no Qld Cup for him to play in. This is also why I'm okay with all the youth in the team.... where else are they meant to play this year to continue developing? Happy to take the losses this year (when we are unlikely to win a premiership anyway) for longer term benefits.

Which is why Seibs ‘rotation policy’ makes sense, otherwise guys will be not playing at all all yea. But that doesn’t get clicks does it.
