RUMOUR Ethan Bullemor to Raiders on loan deal

It does make sense on the surface, but the way things are going for the 2020 Broncos, you could almost consider it as fate that he’s gone for good. What a bizarre season. You couldn’t write this stuff.

Canberra released a bunch of their depth players during Covid so they're down to their last fit forward in Darby Medlyn. Medlyn is a talented prospect, but Stuart may want a rotation between him, O'Donnell and Bullemor. I don't know how many games Ethan will play considering they've also signed Corey Harawira-Naera and John Bateman has also been named as a reserve. I'd be surprised if he played anymore than half the upcoming games.

It doesn't read well for the Broncos. Bullemor is highly regarded as a player of the future and while he's raw and still needs to be managed properly over the next two seasons, he's a classy player the club would have prided themselves on in years past.

In that scenario, Bullemor would have been rotated with Flegler who would have been managed more effectively. Tom is a quality prospect, but he's got far too much on his plate. Same can be said of Carrigan who should have been looked after against the Tigers.

Can we loan Seibold to the Cowboys or Warriors for the rest of the year? We can even pay them, perhaps pass the hat around and get some contributions to assist in swinging the deal?
I can spare a grand for that but only if you coach the rest of the season.

From my understanding any chance of him not returning from the Raiders is very slim.

He wants to remain in Brisbane and rejected an approach by the Raiders to sign him to a longer term deal for that reason. He's taking that loan deal because it's only temporary and he wants to play again this season.

That's the issue, a player of his class shouldn't have to go to Canberra to get an opportunity, he should always be in consideration for the bench and used in the middle.

Even before Covid, his 5 minute stint part-way through the second half against the Rabbits was a joke.

Yep CHN, who will be a starter at back row, or at least well ahead of Ethan.

Ethan has played most of his games as a middle forward, but i do think he will be a good edge player as well.

Problem with this loan BS is that if the player has success at the loan club or fits in really well they will stay there.
The club will get in his ear, as will his manager and as we know, contracts mean nothing.
If a player wants out, he will kick stones and the club will have no option but to release him.
I’m not saying that will happen with Bully, but it will happen soon if this loan shit continues.

loan deals are used successfully in sports around the world ... the NRL is only now just catching on

How many games will he actually play?

There’s only 10 left + finals. I don’t see him playing anything significant for more than maybe 3 games unless all their forwards start dying.

Bigger question is why can’t he get on the bench here when we have Jarrod Wallace Flegler doing dumb shit every game, Jamil being ok for 10 mins and Joe O being a powderpuff

It has no choice. There are no other fit players to promote from lower grades.
I don't like it, but right now its the only way some players will stay match fit.

Because we need our experienced players to lead the way for the club, being inspirational and lifting their teammates. Can't pick all new players, they might get flogged by 40+ every week.

The fact that pies is persisting with Jamil Hopoate over him in the rotation really shows how out of touch he is. Jamil has already said he wants to go home next season, so we're not exactly gaining a whole lot by giving him more opportunities. Bullemor did absolutely fine in his games earlier this season and he'll get better as he goes.

Just another check mark on the list of reasons Seibold is out of his depth.

Not even that, but the fact that the starting pack was clearly struggling and changes needed to be made ASAP and he didn't bring Ofahengaue or Hopoate on until mid-way through the second half. Hopoate actually had some nice touches and he was the one who drew the defence in for Croft to put Oates into some space.

It's another obvious sign that Seibs doesn't have a feel for the game. That and how obsessed he was with stats last year, he honestly sounded like an apologetic fanboy talking about tackle efficiency when you're getting 30 points put on you.
