15+ is a little bit of an overstatement on your behalf and the Titans have had around 5 of what would be top 17 players out for most of their games this season. In terms of Arrow leaving his main upside was that he would get upward of 200m a game making him easily their best player. This year he has averaged 120m which is exactly the same as what Tino and Ese'Ese have been managing this year with less minutes. Arrow is a metre eater and given South's offered him something like 800k, I doubt losing him will make a big difference to the Titans in that saving that allows the addition of nearly 2 similar players albeit slightly less quality.
David Fifita (knee, round 12)
Jake Turpin (leg, round 12)
Matt Lodge (knee, round 12)
Issac Luke (suspended, round 12)
Jesse Arthars (knee, round 12-13)
Alex Glenn (knee, round 15-17)
Tesi Nui (wrist, indefinite)
Corey Oates (leg, indefinite)
Jordan Kahu (shoulder, indefinite)
Sean O'Sullivan (knee, indefinite)
Keenan Palasia (knee, indefinite)
Jack Bird (ACL, season)

Also: TPJ missing for 4 (?) games, ofa missing for 3, perese and seggy contracts torn up due to drug offences... I was wrong, that's 16 players out of o ur top 30 plus jordan riki who was earmarked for a debut. Our 2 hookers got injured the 2 weeks after we released our reserve hooker ffs. If titans had our luck this year there's absolutely no way in hell they'd be anywhere near first grade standard, just like we haven't been, yet we sit on the same points as them...

That means 11 of our top 17 have been missing for a minimum of 3 games out of the 10 so far. With 6 of those 10 missing at least 7 games out of 10... any other team in the comp would be struggling. The effort levels are shit from the players but there's no way any team copes with our injury list except the roosters (due to remarkable recruitment leading to great depth) and the storm (if c Smith isn't on that list)...

If all those players in the injury list are uninjured I see about 7 being included into the top 17. Following on from that half of those injuries weren't from the start of season and Titans have had at least 5 top 17 players out every week almost so to say they don't win a game is a bit harsh. That at the very least gets them to comparable on the injury front. On the topic of TPJ and the others... are you really going to compare suspensions and outs from your players doing careless tackles among other offences. Just take the week they played the Warriors for example. They were missing every one of the clubs centres, the first choice hooker, fullback, prop and second-rower just off the top of my head and beat them when the Broncos had been beaten the week prior.

yeah, it’s one of the worst injury tolls I can remember and no one seems to be mentioning it. The panthers had that horror season and everyone was empathetic toward them. there’s an obvious bias but I still think there’s coaching issues.

Jack bird, Glenn, ofa, TPJ, lodge, oates, turpin, 1 of kahu/arthurs on the right wing, and one of seggy/luke as bench hooker. Riki was also due to debut i n round 1, the only game we had less then 3 injuries in our top 17, the ONE AND ONLY game... so you're allowed to play with a suspension? They've been missing, we have a terrible record at the judiciary and are the most penalised team in the league and most 6 again calls against us. Have also been in the bottom 4 for penalties since 2006, but hey, I'm sure it's just plain bad luck hey...

Btw, I'm honored to meet you " the don". Given the name I'd assume you're a titans fan? I didn't know it was a real thing! Im truly honoured! Enjoy your time in the sun while the NRL tries to keep you afloat because there's another Brisbane team coming in. In sure it will last!

And can you name the 5 players that have been missing each week from your top 17? Id assume that'd mean about 10 players missing for at least 2 games this year each, unless you're implying it's the same 5 players?

I can’t see Fifita ever coming back with the money he’ll get from the titans. Players usually come back due to homesickness but there is little chance of that happening since he’s still so close to mummy.

Honoured to meet you too haha... On the suspension note... isn't it the clubs jobs to make sure their players are disciplined (for sure aren't going to get empathy for TPJ when most of the time he is missing weeks for taking heads off or a shoulder charge). In terms of judiciary I can't say I remember the last time I saw one of ours there but in terms of penalties and 50/50 calls you can be guaranteed we have got the rough end of the stick 99% of the time. Today was an example for gods sake.

Love to hear how the NRL is keeping us afloat currently? (not sarcasm actually interested to hear the thoughts)

Onto the injuries I really can't be bothered going week to week but James and AJ have both been out all year. On top of that, off the top of my head, Proctor, Rein, Sami, Kelly, Copley, Young T, Hipgrave, Don, Thompson, Shannon Boyd (yes i know he's terrible but he made the cut after being injured for a game) and Mo F have all missed games throughout the year through injury. I can honestly say I am empathetic to how your teams travelling especially with injury just didn't appreciate the comparison given we haven't had the best year with it either and have managed some wins. Warriors game where we were missing 7-8 that would've been on the field being the shining example.

Dennis Watt was on Big League Wrap talking about the Fifita signing, guy is classy. Hooper constantly tried to bait him into rubbing it into the Broncos faces but he wouldn’t bite. After the the fifth time he said the game has an issue if Brisbane aren’t strong given the ratings and money they bring into the game, I think Hooper is still trying to figure it out.

Any chance Fifi tries to pull out of the deal if Seibold were to be sacked??

not unless the Broncos also increase their offer by 500k ... this was all about money nothing else

To all those talking about loyalty, it’s dead and has been dead ever since a) the NRL decided to place a salary cap to ensure a “fair” system and b) when the Broncos became a business on the ASX.

there has been a salary cap in league since at least 1991

the Broncos have been on the ASX since 1989

It is really disappointing to lose Fifita, who is a tremendous talent and I love watching him play. But I've got this nagging feeling in the back of my mind that there are plenty of decent backrowers out there that can provide 75-80% of the output that Fifita provides but we could get for half the price and spend the rest elsewhere where it's really needed.

I know he is special but there are always big, fast, powerful Islander backrowers coming through. Maybe not at his level, but will give you good bang for your buck. I don't think it's all doom and gloom as long as we are smart and we have learnt our fucking lesson with contracts and roster management.

I get the feeling we'll see some interesting announcements in the off season. I wouldn't be against Ikin coming in. He seems to be a smart operator and says it how it is. I think he'd have the best interests of the football department at heart and genuinely wants to see the Broncos back up the top.
If reports are accurate with Fifita for $1.25m and the reports in that top 100 richest players article are correct. You could pick up Matterson and Radley ($500k each) plus some change for Fifita’s purchase price.

Everyone is having a cry.

Anyone got a handful of legit valid reasons we should have kept him?? I really don't see many. He can be replaced. We have enough talent now to be a top 4 team when coached well. He can be replaced.

You guys were LITERALLY bailed out by the NRL 3 years ago. The NRL will lose more fans to AFL with this then they'd ever gain by providing a glimmer of hope to titans fans, the beauty of the salary cap at work. Stopping well supported teams from benefiting from being well supported just because broke clubs with small fan bases couldn't keep up. Rugby league will never grow with this mindset....

And so you've had less then half the injuries of the Broncos and none(?) Long term? Wow, what shocking luck.........

On a side note, why is there no racket about Melbourne losing Tino? Up and coming star, he left for a bigger offer. The only thing Melbourne did better was they gave him an offer early, and didn't let him drag it out. Or he respected the club enough to not drag it out.

But the parallels are pretty striking. Up and coming star, left for a shitter club. Both cases are obviously in search of bigger money bags but it's more exciting to make it sound like he's left because the club is a basket case(which it is but that's besides the point).
