This is never as obvious than watching any team that plays Melbourne. They never beat Melbourne by playing cute and efficient, every time Melbourne lose a game it's because the opposition came in and want to smash them. It's how Cronulla have a good record against them, they're not afraid, they go in and rattle them. Melbourne are so good that it doesn't always work, but when you play hard and sting in defence, the attack is always going to be a bit more hesitant to take on the line, think twice before they run, make mistakes while they pass because they're afraid of getting belted. It's not the magic trick to winning the game like you say, but when your base line is tackling and hurting them, the footy follows.

It's frustrating stuff. The first 30 minutes against Melbourne we were monstering them and it showed on the scoreboard, then we went back to passive rubbish defence and we fell apart.

You're so so right. My close mate (the Cronulla guy who won the 50k in the Sportsbet tiping comp and wasn't found for three months!!) said straight after the gf 'we just belted the *****'. Quite the wordsmith my mate

His point is well made, bashing Melbourne works but sure, only half the time. You also need fearless heavy hitters throughout your team and we just don't have many of them. TPJ and Flegs, Carrigan sometimes, reserve Te'o and possibly Haas if someone could make him angry enough.

Thompson was alright but it was Tolman and Napa who impressed me. Terrible conditions and Newcastle's error rate killed them off today.

Yes but overall it was just the bulldogs grittiness that got them home. No one was brilliant but plenty stood up and just showed a lot of resolve in a game few gave them a chance.
Wish we had some of their tenacity.

So based on what white and morris and co have said would it be correct to assume regardless of what happens this season the coach is safe? I know it won't happen but for example if we lose the next two games 50-6 the coach won't be sacked after the two big losses? He's totally safe until his end of year review regardless?

No one will want to come play here now unless broncos offer a truckload of cash. Players used to want to come here to play finals and play with superstars. Now the broncos can offer neither. Seibold has to go.

The only possible answer I can come up with is that it looks bad on PW cv. He cannot afford to look like he made a 5m monumental **** up. Wouldn't do his future employment chances any good. Once that clown is out of the way then Seibold will be gone too. IMHO.

Not much to be gained by having White appoint another coach for the last couple of months and then he leaves.

I can see your logic but FMD it means we are in for a long 9 weeks and our recruitment will be potentially on pause for a couple of months and we could miss some valuable signing opportunities.

He should just be sat down and given those maccas cards for the rest of the year. Let him go to the titans out of shape and under done. Why should we waste any more resources on him that could benefit the titans.
