Can confirm I did check this and Knights 2016 with 800 leaked won't be beat for a long time. In saying that you could be lucky it is a shorter season.

Yeah we’d have to get beaten by 50 every game from hereon to match that, I got over-excited... 😆

If we'd made some more noise about the poor refereeing, we may get some good treatment next week. Won't help, damage is done, but it would be nice.
You are absolutely right! Whenever hasler, toovey or stuart blew up about the refereeing, they got the rub of the green the next week. I know there are fines but he can word it without getting a fine.

We continue to bend over and take it whether it be refereeing, the judiciary etc. Im so tired of the nrl feeling that they can shit on the broncos and have no consequences.

944 they gave up with a few 60+ efforts by the Magpies in 1999. Funnily enough Shane Perry and Harvey Howard would join the Broncos and win a premiership in doing so.

In good news, I think from what I've seen, Fox commentators have run out of adjectives to describe how crap we are at basically everything.

1. Boyd - He tried really hard and also seemed to be the actual captain out there, was very vocal and I am not overly disappointed. He isn't the player he used to be but he certainly wasn't at his worst - 6
2. Kennar - I was really impressed and not for the first time this season. He is not a superstar but he offers a lot. Him and Farnsworth might well be striking up a respectable combination. I reckon he has earned this spot for now - 8
3. Staggs - Absolute shocker. He has had a rough week and it isn't surprising that at the toe-end, he has been found off his flame, I mean game. Those two runs to the sideline were just dumb. Very quiet game - 3
4. Farnsworth - Not as mind-blowingly good as last week but scored a try and was very willing all night. Unfairly penalised at a key moment, totally not his fault - 6
5. Coates - He was fairly quiet to be honest and as much as I love the potential there, he has the turning circle of the titanic and acceleration like my grandma getting out of her chair. He is still very raw but the ingredients are all there - 5
6. Croft - Totally blew his chance to nail the spot. He wasn't horrible in my opinion but he just didn't stand out and was completely outplayed by the rookie in the halfback spot. No idea what to do with him, he isn't the answer, at least certainly not under this regime - 4
7. Dearden - Absolute blinder. Goodness me, he did not deserve to lose that game. He looked dangerous running it, he looked dangerous passing it and he looked dangerous with his short kicking. He was also the last man back on numerous occasions and pulled off some excellent try savers / line break saves repeatedly. He is the future - 9
8. Flegler - I think he might have turned a corner. I thought he was really good in his first stint and serviceable without being great in his second. He is still too raw but a lot to like - 6
9. Turpin - Second game back, he had a shocker but was still somehow better than the reserve hooker. He was willing and tried hard but just couldn't get into the game consistently - 4
10. Haas - He was on a mission. Yes he let in a soft try but he wasn't alone on that play and he is playing too many minutes. Very strong overall though and in him and Dearden, there is at least some brightness in this performance - 9
11. Fifita - Just shut up mate. Look, I am a massive fan and totally gutted to see him leaving after pulling out another trademark try but he looked underdone and was given too many minutes. But the trash talking during the game was a poor look - 6
12. TPJ - Went missing. He got a fairly harsh knock on call early and then look often happens, dropped his head. He was trying but just not really able to make an imprint on the game - 4
13. Carrigan - He had a couple of long breaks on the bench and that is actually good to see. He might be in trouble for the swinging arm. He is too raw to be captain though, man this team is a mess and the coach is throwing these kids to the wolves - 6

14. Luke - Why is he getting game time over Paix?? He provides no spark, no injection and is really just there, providing nothing - 2
15. Lodge - I really fear the game has indeed evolved beyond his type. He is on a lot of money and he is clearly trying but he is a penalty magnet and falls like a sack of potatoes every run, if that sack falls backwards every time. Absolute shocker - 3
16. Joffa - He is just there. He doesn't sting in defense, he doesn't metre-eat, he doesn't offload and he often misreads in defense. He needs to e dropped as a statement - 2
17. Teo - Did he play? Did not notice him once again - 2

Coach - Really strong contract, really no idea on anything else.

Yup, I just checked it. They were a whopping -659 in for and against. They merged with Balmain in 2000.

I remember even that season how badly we were going early on and still felt we weren't even close to that bad.

Is Dearden captain material in the future? Both him (and Carrigan IMO) are just too raw for it right now, but if he keeps playing with as much heart I wouldn't mind him getting it in some years time. Having an 80 minute captain is better than having a 50-60 minute one too.

I'd love to see a simulation of that Magpies side against this Broncos side and see which one wins the cripple fight.

Did a little checking.
This year not including six agains we have received 44 penalties and conceded 87. Anyone who says the refs aren’t influencing our games is blind or stupid. They aren’t to be blamed totally but when your being smashed week in week out by lob sided penalty counts your already on the backfoot
I agree totally. Tonight there were 15 penalties and we got 4 and there were 13 ruck infringements. Each week I keep waiting for the square up by the refs but like clockwork we concede multiple 6 agains. What have we got to do to get a fair game. It’s very frustrating. Is it time to ring the black ulans? At least we seem to have found a gem in dearden.

Hold on, I've been told a half can't be dominant if their forwards don't lay a platform. Something doesn't add up here....
The forwards actually laid an awesome platform. We conceded a tonne of meters but we were also.making a whole bunch until the final quarter.

He’s captaincy material now. He and Haas are the only contenders. Yes, we are that desperate. But the kid actually looks like he knows what he wants to do.

I'd love for Haas to have a crack. If he could go off on the team like he went off at Glenn several weeks ago - might get something out of them. I'd certainly put in a bit harder too if I had a gorilla shouting at me. He also needs a bit of mongrel - maybe putting some extra weight on those shoulders will bring a bit of desire to his game.

The sooner Paix is 9 and Turpin 14 the better off we’ll be.
(Or other way around, I don’t care. Just need to find room for Paix).

nice save haha

but yes I don’t see the point of Luke playing when Paix is available. Today Issac Luke is not 2014 Issac Luke

Still looked more lethal as a runner from dummy half than Turpin did. Turpin just passes from dummy half and offers not much else. Macca 2.0.
