Well, I know a lot on here have lost faith in Croft but I haven't. Yeah, yeah worst in history yada yada yada. I think he's only 23 and will mature and grow in to a good solid first grade halfback.

Golden staph is the most common one, so it's likely he did.
I think I remember it being reported as golden staph. Could easily be totally wrong.

Dearden's said he's staying in interviews and wants to lead the rebuild, so I don't think he's going anywhere. But hey, who knows.

Thats a massive difference from Staggs and Fifita who could only say " i've still got one more year that the Broncos "

He still has potential to be a decent foil to a top class 5/8. Doesn’t make me any more comfortable with losing Dearden though

Could a paix/dearden halves pairing work going forward 2022 onwards?
Or too young?

Anyone here got a solid read on what our top 30 squad is at this moment? Do we still have slots to fill?

Too young and Paix’s development as a half seems to have been destroyed by forcing him into a hooker. He looked completely lost when he played half last season.

No he might’ve been on a drip and he took a while to recover but he was sure as shit nowhere near dying and he definitely did not have golden staph
Fair enough. I remember he was pretty crook though. Enough to be bed ridden.
After that, I would be showering myself in Betadine.

This is the best I could come up with. 24 definites and then the others I've not been able to find 100% what their contract status is. Maybe others will know more than I do.

Kotoni Staggs

The following fellas have still been training and are listed on our website (not that I would consider it reliable):

Jordan Riki
Ethan Bullemor
Kobe Hetherington
Richie Kennar

Then the following have still been training and are either development, train-and-trial or uncertain but not listed on website:

Isaiah Tass (new development contract)
Tyson Gamble
Pride Petterson Robati
Ben Te'o
Albert Kelly (was on train-and-trial, sent back to Souths Logan to lose weight and hopefully return fit)

I haven't seen Pride Petterson-Robati, is there an image of him?

Callum Gahan, Brendan Frei, Ben Nakubuwai have also been snapped training with the team.

I currently have the Broncos at 27 players with the 26 named on their website and the signing of Asiata. It could be as low as 25 depending on the status of Bullemor and Hetherington who could be on development deals.

With Kev saying the team is basically set, you’d imagine he’d have to looking at re-signing guys like Teo and Gamble, upgrading a couple of development players, and keep 1 spot open for either a late inclusion of his son.

Peterson-Robati is on train and trial with the Warriors he’s definitely gone

I think you're on the money. According to the NRL website, the Broncos have 24 players in their official squad. While it's yet to be confirmed, I feel you could lock in Richie Kennar, Tyson Gamble and David Mead to make it 27. That leaves only two spots left before March and I would not be shocked if they go to Ethan Bullemor and Ben Te'o.

The other possibility for the Broncos is that Will Chambers signs with the club after accepting an early release from Suntory. The story has gone quiet but I would not be shocked at all if something eventuates there.

Unfortunately I can't see an Antonio Winterstein or Jack Reed type bolter who forces their way into the squad and earns their place in the 17. Especially since the Broncos are set to only play one trial which you'd expect to be a dress rehearsal and will largely be made up of a full strength team.

I really hope we don't re-sign Ben Te'o. He's probably good around training as an experienced old head but he's a useless footy player now.
