Yeah there really is no incentive for providing scholarships or training, performance programs to players or to do anything for any youth whatsoever. As soon as you have one that is decent, all the other vultures who contribute nothing in the area sweep in and snap them up. I really don't understand why the Broncos bother, they should just copy the Storm and Roosters model of swooping in on the 18 or 19 year olds who are starting to show real promise. We should be able to blow all other clubs out of the water this way.
Ricky Stuart already had this dummy spit years ago after watching Canberra lose every young talent they developed. Karma for us stealing Milford I guess.

Look I don’t blame these teams in trying to bend the rules as it wouldn’t matter if the nrl was run professionally and they just said NO! But they only ever seem to say no to certain teams.

I loved how Ricky said it, the Milford situation was a little different as his old man was sick wasn’t he?

The welfare was along the lines of IF Walters is wanting to get out of his contract due to personal reason (ie. Head home to be closer to family given his career is stalling anyway), but the Tigers are trying to abuse the situation for an unrealistic offer.

How do we know it's the Broncos trying to steal a player and not the player manager coming to Broncos asking if we're interested because Billy wants to play in QLD?

He's a 27 depth utility on a minimum contract.. why exactly would we bother trying to poach him especially when almost every player we have in his position is better anyway.

A reversed scenario would be someone like Kennedy wanting to go to Sydney and the Tigers being interested, but us saying yeah sweet but you have to give us Simpkin in return or else he's not going anywhere.
Kevin obviously would have a close relationship being the father of Billy. I really doubt this has come about by the manager approaching the Broncos separately without the father and son discussing the possible scenario first.

The situation with Kennedy never happened so the comment's irrelevant. And frankly if the scenario did happen the Broncos are entitled to tell Kennedy no or demand the terms of the release as he is under contract.

The Tigers have stated that they want to keep Billy Walters. And they have a use for him and are happy to have him on the money he is on. The Tigers hold all the cards and frankly they are entitled too.

Contracts are contracts. You can't just skew the scenario when the situation doesn't advantage the Broncos. If contracts are not enforced then situations of players wanting out for reasons that are not genuine will continue to arise.

I think the $1mil a season we are paying him is enough bad karma in itself, surely we don’t need any more...

What’s wrong with Milf. I remember when he looked like making a line break with every run.

we tried (and failed) to turn him into a game manager ... Seibs wasn't successful in bringing his x-factor back. hopefully Kevvie has the magic touch

Calm down, otherwise you'll get a reply from you-know-who mentioning all the 15-16 year old players the storm developed or 25 year olds the storm recruited from QLD cup..... you know, all those great VICTORIANS THEY DEVELOPED (they've only had 20 years to do it mind you!)

So if they sign piakura on a 3yr deal and Cordner comes back with in the 12 weeks, that's all legit . Not mention upgrading walker's deal plus signing sonnybull .
Cheating ***** in my eyes !
Dw though, vlandys said that his main priority with bringing in a new club in Brisbane was to increase participation in the game.... that's why the roosters and the storm are always top of the table and played in something liKe 13/17 of the last gfs. The team with LITERALLY no local competition, and who have spent 20 years and had, maybe 3 (?) local players in the NRL...

In the first year he was our primary playmaker we won over 60% of our games.

"See Bold! Before the pies! " the story of a man who took a perennial top 8 side and won the ONE remaining trophy denied it since its inception.
