Hopefully the Broncs have a Titans style clean out over the next few years. Lodge, maybe TPJ, possibly might even have to be Flegler. Need to shift the balance from the forwards into the spine again.

yea thats what worries me it feels our recruitment still seems to be putting priotity on forwards and not spine.

odd that we wouldnt up offer for walsh but it seems we are willing to take a punt on piakura and give him more then we think hes worth just to keep him

Good for us the Titans have put a deadline on Kotoni for his signing. Increases our chance of keeping him if clubs start pulling their offers if he messes them around. It's what we should do.

I actually see Herbie as a fullback.

He's got this real leave everything out on the field starch to him that Billy Slater had.

I see him having the capacity to play in a similar style to papenhuyzen (they are both very fit and very quick), however i dont think nrl is where you should be learning a new position that he has not played much before in the upper grades. Which is a shame because i really think he could be a good one.

I think 700k I about right for Staggs, although we still don’t know how well he is going to come back.
Personally I think the money we supposedly offered Piakura would have been better going to Walsh.
Hopefully I’m proven wrong.

The extra money we gave to Piakura was because Walsh left... that money was transferred straight from that contract to Piakuras contract

remember, we have 12 players off contract end of year......the money is actually there.....re-signing our guys isnt as expensive, $700K for Staggs is in addition to what he already takes up in the cap. I dont know what his current contract is but take it away from what the new one would be.

But if we don’t re-sign McMilf we have a spare $1mil straight away. We can sign Reynolds and still have change for contract top ups of our young ones to extend so they’re not all due at once as is the present case.

Suddenly the team runs out a game better than an opposition. Riki re-signs and does a war cry to others to do the same.

Piakura and Staggs likely stay and looks like Coates will too. Wow, this could be huge for us moving forward.

Nah Farnworth played well but he is gonna need a lot more progression to become a fullback

As someone said on here, farnworth has all the attributes of an amazing fullback, but the NRL is not the place to improve your fullback skills in the meantime with a mediocre spine to cover for his learning stuffups. It wouldn't be fair on him and would probably make him lose confidence and would mean a step back in his career.

I wasn't a go for manu type but **** it I reckon. Get him here with Daryl Clark (Who I found out is much y younger then I thought), get rid of Milford and have a spine of manu, staggs, dearden, Clark with turpin off the bench b Smith aggression/energy-style. It may not be the best spine and a little out of the box but there is structure, creativity, energy and game breaking in that spine. For all crofts faults, his enthusiasm and professionalism mean he can still be a pretty handy back up with injury with b Walter's and paix also providing half/hooker cover. Isaako or farnworth can be handy fullback covers too.

If Dearden leaves, then you're probably better off waiting for a 2nd Brisbane Team.

He is the lynchpin for our incoming dynasty. Put the house on Dearden.

After this year, potentially even now, lodge is the contract that ***** us the most... $700k on him is a joke. He has never been the best front rower in the comp yet he is probably the highest paid. Makes no sense. Not to mention the new game doesn’t suit him and he’s always injured now...

Lodge needs to bring his triple A game over the coming weeks and drive this both physically and mentally forward if he wants to be seen as a successful front-rower. TPJ has been holding the fort for both him and Haas - they both owe him and us a huge payback.
