dont matter if he doesnt cut it at 5/8th...he can go back to the centres where he belongs....a win win gentleman and ladies...

But if he does go back to centre, the right edge is starting to form up; ??? - TPJ - Staggs - ???

Still gotta build...

Last season Staggs elevated himself to be arguably the game's premier centre. His power and strength were fantastic and his match winning ability was world class at times.
I personally think this deal is fair for both parties. When you look at the salaries if some of his peers (Manu 600k, Cotric 650k, Bird 800k, Gagai 700k) how could we have justified paying him less when we're near the bottom of the ladder??
Let's get on with it and get behind the kid. He's every chance of flourishing as a $1M player and we can all salivate that we got him cheap!

Staggs will play about 4 games of 6 and shit the bed before moving back to the centres. That is providing he lasts the off season without having his contract torn up.

They've obviously been sitting on this to counter the Coates blow but Staggs doesnt strike me as a bronco and I find it really hard to stomach the bloke.
Milford is gone, no need to be upset about it.

You can watch him at another club next year 👍

Very conflicted about this. You can't deny he's a gun player, but I am very skeptical about him playing in the 6. The only good news I can see out of that possibility is it guarantees Milford is out. No chance Kev risks the Milford @ fullback experiment again. That horse has bolted, pardon the pun. He wants that cap space back so we have a massive warchest ready to spend.

Too bad we can't even bag any players with it.

This would upset me however Staggs clearly isn’t the answer. He’ll get a few games and when it’s an abject failure he’ll get sent back out the the centre’s.

Wighton started as a centre in the NRL. Extremely powerful runner, same as Staggs.

I have no doubt Staggs can get back to his best. Multiple knee injuries didn't hamper Tedesco.

Yeah Wighton doing it doesn’t mean every powerful running centre should transition into 6.

I could be wrong but I don’t see it. I don’t think I’m alone there either

You think after we sign Reynolds we'll have a war chest..? 😬

Staggs’ signing is actually good news for once - if he doesn’t f*** up with another off-field incident. It’s a 50/50 gamble because I don’t trust the club to keep a leash on him.

His off field stuff is very minor in comparison to others. It’s hard to understand why the nrl are so keen to grandstand on it, unless they know something we don’t.

He hasn't signed yet dude, and even if he does, giving him a million a season is just handing over Milford's wage, and personally if we do get him I don't think it will be that much despite what most think. His recent injury would have harmed his negotiating position.

Reading between the tea leaves I reckon Broncos already have an established half in the bag. This was reportedly the requisite for Staggs to re-sign.

I wonder how Milford will play on Saturday night knowing his position has already been promised away?
