I don't care what you want or think. My opinion stands. I said I'd pay 400k for him.
WHY? Your saying is that with widdops current asking price most likely between 150-300 k due to how desperate he is to get to an nrl club let alone a starting position you’d just throw away extra cash just cause you feel like it

A. No one cares what YOU want
B. He never said he was worth 500k learn to read.
How about you take a page out of your own textbook and you learn to read. If you go back far enough and READ, he said that Widdop could come on “500K, half of Milford”

you really thought being a smart ass was going to go down well for you

Are we sensing a Tesi Niu off-contract story from Badel this week?

Stinky Pete didn't disappoint...

The Titans expressed interest in Niu last season and there are fears the Tongan Test rookie could emulate former teammate David Fifita and quit the Broncos to chase a regular starting spot at the Gold Coast next year.

Never is that black and white though, is it? They were obviously looking for a young gun for the outside backs.. I wouldn't think Tesi is out of calculations
😂😂 not having a go but I love how we do that, we talk up how good they are and then when another team is a threat we talk them down as quickly as possible.

Obviously I need to clarify.... "I doubt he'd be overly expensive.. I can't see him asking for more than maybe 500k? That's half of what Milf is on. If we can talk him down to 400k then I would sign him."

There ya go mate, might wanna fix those knots in your knickers

It's not like I wouldn't sign him for less... Geez.. Why's it such a big deal? I was just spitballing ideas.. Not trying to guess his exact market value..

what happens next year with the wing spots next year if C. Oates plays well for the remainder of the season. would it be him and cobbo? what do you do with issako? or supposedly Perreria is coming, be interesting to see how that plays out.

He's not going to the Gold coast. They have Brimson and they have Campbell. As it stands he would be nowhere near making their side. He looked very, very ordinary in the centers and he has only really done ok in the fullback roll in the last couple of games.
Agree with you.. Nui needs a fair bit of work.
The sharks game was his best yet the others were ok.. he scored a try against the raiders by kicking for himself on the second tackle turned out to be good but if it didn't come off he would of been getting hate like Issako. I'd resign him for 200-250 Max and wouldn't get in a bidding war for him. In my opinion our other 2 options have more potential in Cobbo and Herbie

Widdop, Vaughan and Woods are not good options for this Broncos team. I get we need experience but we need to fix the culture more than anything and that rules out Vaughan automatically. Widdop has been terrible lately and wouldn't be a better option than Gamble at this point. Woods is a plodder, unless he comes for basically minimum wage because that's all he's worth.

Plus we need a hooker more than anything. Turpin having a good game on the weekend doesn't change the fact he has been terrible and his passes rarely hit the chest of the first receiver.

NO to Paul Vaughan.
He's played for his country, state and 180 nrl games and not in the dragons leadership group says something about the type of guy he is around the club. Don't want that at the club no matter how good they may be id rather we sign a bloke like Mark Nicholls or a player like Nat neale from the ipswich jets

Isaako will probably be at the Tigers by then

If Oates is in good form he’s in the team every week.

Ben Ikin:

Tesi is one of the players we are talking with at the moment, absolutely. Tesi is a good young player. I can’t give a percentage on what Tesi will do, but we would like to keep him.”

“Tesi is one of several fullback options we are looking at. Kevin will be looking at that area over the next eight weeks. We have several centre or fullback options. We have Selwyn Cobbo, we have Brenko Lee coming from the Storm, we have Jesse Arthars and Tesi was fantastic against the Sharks."

“Tesi is playing fullback at the moment and there are some other classy outside backs we have on our list. Herbie Farnworth was named there against the Raiders before Tesi came in late and he is another option."

“Kev is going through the process at the moment. It‘s good for the club, there will be healthy competition for spots.”

If dragons take TPJ. Could try and front end Vaughn on a 2 year deal. Whatever we have left in the cap for this year and peanuts for next year?
Wonder what is the right money for a top tier prop now days? I hope the $800k days are being reassessed.
Would be nice if the players wanted to share the money around a little more. It is the players interest too, to have quality around them. Would love it if Vaughn decided playing next to Haas, was good for his stress levels, and $600k is plenty....

We've lost Lodge and we're likely losing TPJ. You can't replace them in the squad with Kennedy because he's already in the squad, so it stands to reason that we will need to take on at least one, but probably two Middle Forwards to replace them - hence the willingness to look at a guy like Ah Mau who generally contributes more than his pay packet would probably warrant.
No problem. I thought we were only talking about Lodges replacement and you? suggested someone for the role. What I thought we'd need is another prop to take over Kennedy's role from the bench. Anyway, all good.

After a win everyone is yelling... sign him up! sign him up! Hold your horses lads, Broncs always falls into the trap of signing and paying top dollar for players after one stand out performance. Carrigan, Flegler, Riki, Turpin etc. We need to see consistency first.
Look at Matt Dufty after he polaxed us in the game against the Dragons, I must admit I jumped on the bandwagon of wanting to sign him up, next week he plays shithouse and the weeks after that. Credit goes to the Broncs for dodging a bullet there.

Tesi isnt a gun outside back for a start. They have an established, talented fullback in Brimson, they have a promising younger player in Campbell. Tesi isnt a winger, he hasnt shown any great talent at center and he hasnt even carved it up in ISC. Why would they want him unless they want to stockpile younger players? Makes no sense.
