I read it as he had games like this in him in 2020 like the aforementioned Melbourne game. Personally the game that stuck out to me was against St George where he was like a one man band.

I'm docking Kelly and Walters both points for not pushing Patty out of the way inside the 20m zone. The lead up to the Cobbo no-try was comical.

He was immense that night. Ran for about 260 meters.

I think it's true to say that most teams suffer the same way when replacing the starting props. I don't disagree either about Roberts but I do see what KW had in mind. Truthfully I thought we really didn't lose all that much go forward as RK managed over 10m a run which maintained the momentum but James didn't, a lousy 4m average ,24m from 6 hitups.

Totally agree with the rest of your post. Real credit to KW for changing the collective mindset.

It is more what you have and working to it- would it be nice to have a Craig Wing on the bench to play 20 minutes and have dazzlingly impact- you betcha but they don’t.

What they do have is forwards- tough forwards. So use that play boring football but win 11-4.

You have to work to your strengths and I don’t think Roberts for eight minutes is a strength.

Look I’m happy to admit when I’m wrong and given how much I post in here and how often we interact, you really should be aware of that.

Am I wrong in this instance? Probably and if so I apologise (are you happy?) but I called it as it happened and without the benefit of watching replays on 0.25 speed to prove a point.

I still haven’t watched a replay so I honestly have no idea whether Kennedy should have been penalised or not, so you may well be right. I went on the call at the time and as you should be well aware, I’ve often been critical of NRL officialdom so would not be surprised if this call was incorrect.

At the time it certainly seemed to be like the six again was a fair call because the player was staying on the Rabbit too long.

However, you originally asked what the second instance was and I answered. You then proceeded to call me all sorts of names and became aggressive, so how is that conducive to a discussion?

Had you actually taken the time to discuss and not assume I was attacking Kennedy, we could have got this kind of civil discussion much sooner.

You’ve a history of doing this mate, like for example your tirade against the ‘woke’ agenda where you flew off your handle against me because you incorrectly assumed I was against your views on that.

Also, you should know when I put player ratings up, I do it without watching replays and have said before they are certainly not foolproof, I do it to create discussion and if people disagree, I’m all for it. I do it without watching replays and if we’re honest, most of my ratings are probably incorrect but it is all part of the fun of post game discussion.

For future reference too, note in here how many people have praised Isaako’s game last night so you don’t need to come in here all guns blazing at all times, just try to be a bit nicer and people will enjoy discussions with you about your pet peeves. Come in here like an aggressive old man and people will treat you like one.
Mmmm, as always there's some truth mixed in with the shit. In this thread I was 100% civil right up until Broncosfever started with the insults. Calling me 'too old, too stupid' which set me off and a bit of a snowball effect ensued. That’s on me. Morkel refused to concede( as you have) that RK didn’t do anything wrong, a point made by lynx000 and I over reacted.

I was pissed and I got that wrong. I had answered him reasonably prior to that but he kept on with the scapegoating and false claim and again, I was pissed off. Should not have lapsed into childish name calling.

Yes, calling you a wanker was out of order but can you not admit that claiming Huge 'thinks Kennedy is an immortal in waiting' is goading and unnecessary? Obviously I don't believe such nonsense and yes, I was already hot under the collar from the unnecessary swipes. I apologise for calling you that. Can you also see that you exaggerated this 'abuse' claiming I called you 'all sorts of names' when I only called you a wanker once!

You contribute, this is not just one way.

Wow, just watching the replay now... Cobbo had 5 missed try scoring opportunities... That's crazy, imagine if he had converted all of them - he'd have had a 10/10 game.

What about Paix?

Whoever it is, has to be able to pass it to the intended receiver in a high pressure situation

Yes I contributed to it, I freely admit that and I apologise but this kind of discussion with you right now is so much better. You make a lot of good points and have good discussion when you are calm (as we all do), just try not to paint us all with the same brush (and this is something I try not to do but also am not always successful at it), it isn't helpful.

I didn't call you stupid, I called you stubborn and it's an accurate assessment.

If you feel inclined to lash out, that's on you. Perhaps you can look into how you act out when you are confronted with evidence to suggest you are probably wrong about something.

Can we move along now

Yes and as a topic, it has been a long time since we have had anyone other than Haas in the NRL team of the week, who we got in the running likely?

I think:

Haas
Carrigan
Capewell
Cobbo (not because he deserves it but because the media are crowing about him)

I thought Cobbo was good last night, would've been great if he managed to convert one of those chances he had, one of which he completely created for himself.

He will face better wingers than Mansour though and hopefully he can position himself and his teammates a bit better for the future, that's the only negative I could take out of his game last night, the effort was great. Loved his tough carries and one time there he tried to make 3 consecutive tackles.

Sure sure but I wasn't wrong though was I? Should I say I'm wrong when correct? Yes, you didn't call me stupid, you said I was too old, too stubborn which seems kind of pointless when I was actually correct.

Wouldn't it have been better for those who were wrong simply to have said 'I got that wrong' instead of doubling down? I wasn't 'probably wrong' about the 6 again was I?

Great win to start the season. New year, new attitude!

Could have easily given up tries when they received 6 set restarts to 1.

Haas isn't human. Stagg had a shocker in handling but defence was good. Having him on one side and capewill on the other will hopefully stop a lot of trys this season. Ryan James had no impact but believe he's gone anyway when Hetherington's back. Good to keep him around in training but feel he's too slow for the game now.

On Cobbo there's not many players I can remember that have had that many errors in a game and you can still say they played good/great.
Alot were try scoring opportunities that will be easily ironed out once he gets used to playing next to Staggs, playing wing and getting his positioning right.
Once he gets those things sorted it will be like watching Yow Yeh back in that 5 jersey
