OFFICIAL Te Maire Martin Signs Three Year Deal with the Warriors

I hope there is some thought in the coaching camp about eventually moving him to the no.6...... Cobbo to no.1.
Naaaa

Keep him as a winger for a couple more years. There's no rush on this transition.

Anyone who wants him fullback so early in his career are just trying to manufacture a new Latrell.

Nothing wrong with us having a standout winger for a few years.

What I don't get is he doesn't wear headgear.
Head gear will not stop concussion .
It might help stop you splitting your scalp . But concussion happens with sudden deceleration of the brain within the skull . Head gear can`t stop that .

That's obvious, but it can atleast help a bit with some impacts.

I personally hope their isn't

He seems far to quiet to be directing our defense from the back.

I also don't think he is a good enough play maker to be fullback.

He's strength is his running and power game. The only move I would consider on the future is a move to centers

There is if the winger is on 600k.

Cuts, cauliflower ear, other soft tissue injuries, outdated science.

From my limited understanding concussion/ CTE occurs when the brain bounces around inside the skull which headgear obviously can’t prevent.
I just look at it as padding that can soften impacts but not prevent outcomes even if it's minimal, like a bumper on a car absorbing some of the force.

I fully understand what you’re saying and it seems logical. I think most people would share that view but from what I Understand the science just doesn’t back it up. Even NFL style helmets don’t work to minimise brain injury.

That might be different because there is no crumple zone on the outside being solid, though it does have padding on the inside, but I haven't seen the science so what do I know.

Oh dude. You realise headgear does absolutely nothing to protect against head injury. At best, it lessens contusion injuries like cauli ears or glancing blows on the face

We cannot have another situation where we let our future fullback just up and go

We lost Coates, Walsh.. Selwyn Cobbo is potentially better than them both, if they want to invest in one, I reckon he's the right guy to take that risk with

The only people who believe him to be a future fullback are fans.

Doing what the fans wanted is what git us in this mess to begin with.

I trust DD/Ikin/Kevvie to make the right call. Even if that means not paying overs based on potential.

Although, I doubt we have to worry about paying 600k for a winger despite Badels claim

Isn’t there a young indigenous kid coming through (I think he is 16 or 16 this year) who is being talked up as a huge fullback talent? I cannot think of his name and I could be totally wrong as I’ve obviously never seen him play, have only seen reports. Now I know he’s a kid if this is the case but will be interesting to watch him develop. Would be wonderful to get Walsh back but all that said, TMM is making a great gist of it for now, happy to see him continue as the stop gap, even if that stop gap extends to 4 or 5 years if he continues to make it his own.

Then why does it exist?

1st aid training facilitator with the QRL told me it`s for show / confidence / make mummy feel better , about 10 years ago .

The brain is floating in fluid inside the skull . The deceleration still occurs if there is a thin layer of padding or not . Worse if you get dehydrated . Less fluid for the brain to slosh around in . So drinking the night before games is a big negative .

The posts since my last one back up what I know .
