I don't necessarily think it would be a move that he's doing purely for footy and career aspirations... it would be more about getting to continue his career back in NZ (he's barely been over there since he came to Aust as a teenager).

He's 27 at the end of this year and Broncos would be looking to throw him say a $300k contract or so, because they have Cobbo and Ezra lined up as the long term options for the two positions he plays.

NZ on the other hand could go crazy and throw him a $500k 3yr deal to play 6 for them... it would be a very smart move if they did and it would set him up for life after footy.

In NZ he's likely to get a higher value contract and more years, to play out his career where he wants to and then set himself up on a farm, which is all he's after.

He's playing footy 3yrs after being diagnosed with a bleed on the brain... his priorities have changed in regards to his footy career.
Warriors already have Volkman, Asi and Johnson though. I mean I could definitely see them going after TMM as none of the halves I listed are world beaters but I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t either.

That'd be a fucking very, very brave move.....
Not really. He seems like an uncomplicated bloke who calls NZ home. There's nothing healthier in a club than a sense of belonging. You can see that in Selwyn and Ezra, just to name two. It's Kevvie's signature move.

Te Maire is grateful to the club for giving him a chance to return to the NRL, but I don't get the impression he has that "sense of belonging." He just plays good footy.

It isn't helped by him not being able to see a future for himself in the starting side. He's seen our golden boy - who must not be named - announce in a press conference he wants Te Maire's position next year, while commentators unanimously appoint Selwyn the fullback in waiting. And he can see Ezra and Adam have the halves tied down. He would see himself as injury cover, always waiting for his opportunity. Along with Tyson, Tesi, and whoever else get to play second fiddle.

If the Warriors can offer him a starting position in the halves, and a return home, that's ticking all the right boxes. I can't hold that against him.

Cowboys join the Storm and Penrith as teams that are just a level above everyone. The good news is that we are getting closer and closer to that level. We just need to get better at slowing the game when we need to, and speeding it up when we need to.

Is it just me or did anyone else think that our goal line defence is good but when we aren’t on our goal line we don’t have great first contact or line speed and sort of just seem to sit back and get ran through…

but with cowboys, storm, panthers they have good line speed and they wrestle turn them over and put the opposition on their back more times than not. Whereas we just allow our opposition to get a quick play the ball on their front and build momentum.

A fully fit Brisbane squad will beat a fully fit Cowboys squad.
When are teams ever "fully fit"? Especially this time of year? The Cowboys were missing Luki, Cotter and Dunn. The Broncos casualty list is a little longer but I don't think it's a factor.

The Cowboys were by far and away the better team in the two clashes and have played the better brand of footy throughout the season. The Broncos have amazingly rebounded this year after a really horrible patch. But it doesn't compare to what the Cowboys have achieved. They are on a different level to us and we have to accept that.

We need to protect Reynolds kicking game more......get some bodies in the way of the defence. Hess was getting a free run at him last night....almost every time. Once he got rattled early....it seemed to throw his game off for the whole night. Nothing worked after that.....

Stupid mistakes aside......our defence in general was pretty good. Attacking errors at crucial times hurt us the most....

Cowboys "unbeatable"...?
pffft .....please 🙄

Thought Riki was shit and needs to play in the reggies for a while....

My vote is to keep playing Cobbo at fullback if TMM is out.
Nui is Isucko 2.0....IMO.

Our goal line defence has been spectacular more than partly because of Te Maire. It was woeful last night more than partly because of Selwyn. Te Maire gets underneath attackers and rolls them on their back. Selwyn overshoots and graps at them. He even tried a last ditch ball steal last night which directly resulted in a try. He needs to be shielded for a while yet.

The Cowboys are class right across the field, but Robson is probably the difference between the two sides. Switch him with Turpin and it's our game. By a lot.

Don't know if anyone has rapped Paddy (@Wolfie) for that ball that put Cobbo through the hole last night. I mean any half would be looking at that with a bit of jealousy I think. The commentators barely mentioned it too, but in an otherwise forgetful night it made me shift to the edge of my seat.

A bit more of that combination please.

My issue isn’t with our goal line d, our goal line defence is great. But when we are not on our goal line, like when the opposition is in their own half or on around half way our defence just seems to get ran through. But when we are on our goal line I think our defence is pretty good.

We need a hooker so fucking bad, we need to swap haas for one.
Jayden Nikorima would be the best we could do on the market for next year. Otherwise, it's Walters and Paix until Mozer arrives. I can't see Kevvie signing Nikorima so he can let his son go.
