Niu reminds me too much of Milford. A couple nice touches but too hot and cold. Tries to push the flashy play but not willing to put in effort or put his body in the line. I don’t think I saw him attempt any catch when an opposition player was within 20M.

Hopefully this motivates us to put in a better effort against the Roosters

Sucks to lose to teams like the Tigers considering when we were coming last the only team we looked like beating were the Bulldogs

Apart from Billy, i cant say anyone stood up tonight. Said it in the live game threat, but our supposed big 3 of Staggs, Haas and Arey had no impact and Carrigan had his worst game of the year, and the rest of them werent a great deal better either. Staggs is very worrying. Our best and highest paid backline player should be offering us way, way more than we are getting. Its like he just cant get over his Origin failure.

Walters clear MoM for me. He was excellent.

I wouldnt get too carried away though. Its our first really poor game as a team for months.
Haas had a good game tbh, but there wasn't enough from others to make an impact.

I hope we fight Pats so called hip drop tackle. No way was that a hip drop. I'd be using Nathan Cleary on Billy Walters as a precedent for that. Cleary wrapped his legs around Billy and dragged him down. Pat just held onto him and unfortunatly landed on his ankle.

Tesi and to a lesser degree Mam we’re pretty woeful. The amount of ball niu put down while in attack was just not NRL standard. Lazy defence I think we had line speed for the last try and then we faded. Bitterly disappointed in Reyno his kicking game was deadset off tonight. I liked Billy’s short ball to send Riki in . The rest was well below par.
Exactly why we need gamble. He’s got a really nice short ball. Every team is monstering Staggs now and there’s opportunities for riki. We also need brenko Lee back. Mariner was solid but too inexperienced

I gave tesi rope, I’ve quickly ripped that rope back, Walsh next year please and TMM for the remainder thanks.
I don't want to single him out because I thought he was better than the rest of the spine tonight, but I'm still concerned about his defence. The To'a try isn't on him, but he was too slow to put himself in a position to even have a chance to stop it. Then the Musgrove "try", he was right there but didn't even attempt to help Paix and stop the try.
Also sometimes he's just passing the ball for the sake of it. Don't pass when there's zero room for your outside man and nothing's on.

I will say he's a gifted ball runner, almost guaranteed to beat the first defender every time. He belongs somewhere in the team, just not convinced it's at fullback

There is a conflict in the rule though, any promotion is a double movement, even if the body goes past the line.

We got done for the exact same thing with Hosking.
Hosking landed before the line and extended his arm forward. That's why it was a double movement.

Didn't we beat this to death last week? It was a try because he was still travelling forward when he promoted the ball. Momentum would've carried him forward. Just let it go.
Hosking ended up in the ingoal as well, but was still a no try... tonight they changed the interpretation again

You want the Broncos to challenge the MRC? Do you want to lose Carrigan for the rest of the year??

It was a try according to the rule.
The problem is we had one exactly the same as that by Hosking taken off us against the Tits.

The rule shouldn’t even be considered when half the players body ends up in the in goal.

Except, as usual, when it’s us…

Haas had a good game tbh, but there wasn't enough from others to make an impact.

Despite his usual meters, i thought he was ineffective. Not just him, but they contained our pack pretty easily. I dont think any of our forwards punched through the line like they did against the Eels. The physicality and intent just wasnt there. They gave us very little platform to work from.

Not a totally surprising result, the Tigers have been playing well in the past month or so. I thought the Broncos were solid. They looked slick and their line speed was good in the second half. But the Tigers played much better and wanted it a lot more.

These things can happen on a team that is rebuilding. Disappointing but I won't lose any sleep. They are still an even money bet next Thursday even without Patty.

Needed to win this one - suddenly very nervous

His body was moving forward and he finished ahead of the line though.
