I said before in the pre game thread that our middle resilience that has been lacking for us was the key thing that will determine if we can turn this around or get smashed again and it would be the deciding factor and it's what happened.

Our middle despite the fact ability wise isn't bad even without Carrigan is mentally weak as shit atm they had no chance against one of the best middle forward teams in the competition and it showed.

I think long term results like this can benefit us long term if we make actions for the future and actually act on it, we need harder heads in our team in that area, Carrigan from my view that I see is the only player in our middle that has those attributes but we need atleast another, Haas is an excellent forward but he is weak as piss mentally and doesn't have the communication skills required to get players to go with him on the effort areas, I get the coach is a crucial part but you need a few players in each area to keep the message on field and your not getting it with what we have.

We need to offload Haas and spend that on a hardened Hooker or Prop/Lock with high leadership that has skills and ability to match.

Just off the top of my head Tino and Hunt are the ones that stick out that we can get there.

I think from what we could of done now is obviously having Gamble in the 17 as a Lock/Halves cover player, he has been under utilised massively this season and because of that we now see him wanting to leave, the guy literally played 2 games at lock in his entire career and his second game against the titans resulted in basically all our points, he might be on the low ability side as a half but I see a very high ability lock in him that hasn't been looked at, but his communication skills are honestly goated.
The absolute hide of haas thinking he’s worth even half what he’s on right now, he does realise that being in the middle involves more than just running his plodder metres which he is a so efficient at….

Honestly though he could probably get away with that being in a team that has that covered, but in this team he is a luxury jack bird player that we don't need.

Yeah, with everyone else doing the hard stuff, he could be “great”.

Yeah, with everyone else doing the hard stuff, he could’ve “great”.
Like if he went to Roosters with JWH and Radley there he would give massive positives because he doesn't need to bring communication and leadership, he isn't the player to bring the boys on his side to promise them the feat of making it to Valhalla.

I think it's just fatigue and I know tonight we had nearly everything go against us early in the first half, we didn't start that game that badly actually.

I don't know if Kev survives or not, I just don't know who they bring in who would do a better job. Billy Slater isn't it, by the way.
Slater will coach Storm in ‘24 after Bellyache steps down

8th to 6th. This side is capable but we are being poorly coached and we are being let down by our big name, big money players like Staggs and Haas too often.
Nailed the 3 most important reasons. Haas is a plodder who thinks he’s worth millions. Staggs is a one trick pony who ran over a couple of defenders early on in the season and has been failing badly at trying to repeat that ever since. And I can’t find anyone who can explain to me why Kevvie decided bringing Turpin back into the team instead of Paix after A. Turpins losing record. B. Paix’s winning record C. Already announcing to the world that we don’t have a spot for Turpin “moving forward..” FFS how is he a better option now?? And don’t tell me it’s because of Paixs defensive weaknesses. He seemed to go okay during the 7 game winning streak!! So angry and disillusioned after going to Parra 5 weeks ago and witnessing a fantastic win to this pile of steaming crap.

Both are shit but Walters at least has utility value. To be honest I wouldn’t be upset if we kept Turpin over Walters or let both go. Paix is far better than either of them and even he is average.
Imagine if we had one B. Hunt as our 9 next season. One of the best performed Origin players consistently over the last 3-4 years playing at 9.
I’d happily let Haas go wherever he wants as long as he takes his whole cap value with him and spend that money getting Hint back to be our 9. $750-$800k a season would be well worth it. Use some of the savings from Haas leaving to upgrade Patty and he takes over as club captain after ARey retires.

I wonder where Reynolds head is at right now. He’s been bruised, battered and knocked out. Team is getting flogged, souths are doing fine without him and on top of that, the broncos organise a video montage of his ex team mates wishing him well for his 250th.
He’s been a shadow of his early season self since the rib injury.

Guys, Jake and Billy are both shit and wouldn't be in any team wanting to do anything serious.

I dunno why this comes up every single week. Spare the Walters utility value as well.. you need to actually make an impact for that.

Perfect for our season.
Start: A bit wobbly
Middle: Freewheeling
End: Oh ****

we had like 30% of possession, no centre in the history of the game is turning the game for you with that amount of ball. Staggs looks shit when the team is playing shit and every centre in the comp bar Manu is the same.
Don’t need him turning the game, just turning up. He had 1 or 2 good games all season, doesn’t do any work in attack, is full of errors, and defence is very suspect.

He’s half the player Farnworth is.

I really wanted Kev to succeed but dear o dear, he thought he was innovating with his team selections and use of bench. In reality, he's self inflicting more harm than anybody else can.

Poor line speed both in attack & defence,
no wrestle in tackles, no wrapping up the ball when defending which leads to opposition to offload at will,
no support play's, no game plan what so ever rather purely depend on individual brilliance and the list can go on & on......

It's a disgrace that a fan & past players favorite cannot coach at all. Most people including myself thought Kev would at least bring us out of the deep hole we're in the last few years.

Do yourself a favor & walk away Kev. That's the best & the only smart thing you can do now.
You are just parroting what every fan says. I don't think there was one Interchange that wasn't forced last night. What do you expect him to do with the bench? Leave players on there and not replace the injured ones? Lol.

3 weeks ago it was tesi that was to blame, now it's turpin and for some reason kevy... its more than just one or two players or the coach. Everyone apart from Oates and hosking were terrible last night. Our errors and poor discipline made us defend the whole time

If it’s everyone, isn’t that the coach’s fault?

You do realize that his poor use of the interchange bench has been a common theme with him, right?

He had an excuse last night. Though that bench against a team like Parra was just mind boggling to even begin with. He doesn't have an excuse for the multiple other times he's done it.

Well we’ll learn if this is true or not soon enough.
