Refs were blatantly trying to keep cowboys on the match last night it was ridiculous and so obvious
Was at the game. One of the worst ref performances I've ever seen. Definitely cowboys got the rub of the green but he also gave us some baffling penalties that were obviously square ups. There was one where I saw him touch his ear piece, obviously trying to listen, and then he gave us a penalty for the cowboys holding on yet it was the quickest ptb I'd seen from our end. Those amazing defensive sets where they pinned us in our end, the cowboys players RIGHT beside him were leaving before the player even got to their bloody feet. The 3 strip calls were fuvked too, no onus on the ball carrier whatsoever. Now if the hiku knock ons weren't knock ons fine, but they better be fucking consistent with that, you just know they won't be when we do it...

Be honest though, when the draw came out what did we think of the first 2 games?
Because we wake up to this ladies and gents 🔥🔥🔥!! How good is this?!

Do we have enough guys with the cunning footy brains to go well this year, though? Reynolds yes but the rest of the spine is very green. It's a long year, I am keen to see how kevie manages it, no dount this team is competitive in next few years

I’ll take my Horse coloured glasses off, and try to be objective…at least the second one was a knock on!! All day, every day. The first gets called a knock on 99% of the time but it’s against the Broncos so, you know..
The bunker said he took it on the 11 meter and the ball touched the line behind him..NO, IT NEVER DID. We got the result in the end, but I agree, consistency!!

There will definitely be ups and downs and the origin period could really derail us but as long as we are peaking at the back end of the year and not falling off a cliff again, that will be the key.

Yep even if you give the benefit of 0.1% doubt to the first one, that second one was as clearly a knock on as you will ever see, it wasn’t even discussable.

Some impressive stats from last night:

Herbie 244m
Walsh 175m
Oates 142m in like three quarters of a game
Mam 183m
Haas 180m
Carrigan 158m
Flegler 153m
Jensen 106m
Taupau 106m

Absolutely dominant
I think Mariner had some big shoes to fill in Herbie. I don't want to jump on the staggs hatewagon just yet. He's a confidence player and I think it will come. I remember we were all loving him at the start of last season before his injury at origin. I'll give the lad a chance to find his wreckingball form. How good is it to have herbie signed for this year on peanuts when really he is an 800k+ year centre

The biggest loss to the team is big Oatsey's carries out of our own end. He takes so many of the hard hit ups to get our sets going, I think Arthurs can replace him in attack but I'm not too sure he can replicate Corey's hard carries. That will stifle our whole game to a degree.😢

Jensen for me was immense again this week. His game has lifted another notch from last year.🤏

I'm sure Kevvie has coached Mam to think he's Tunza MkII. Some of his defence on the cow forwards was outstanding.👌

Skip Walter's tackle on the line to deny Timmy Dearjon and his kick chase towards the end of the game to get the Cows off our line hopefully did not go unnoticed by BHQ.🖕

Riki looks like he's gonna have a massive breakout year. He's still in the dumb and bumber club though.👄🫀🫀

Cobbs was still thinking about Patty's extension news and trying to workout how long he was here for. He certainly never had his mind in the game. Mind you it was reported him and Mam both had a bout of the flu and mam had it two days before Cobbs, so perhaps he was still under the weather slightly.🗣️

What a debut from our man of the match and speed demon fullback. He was so fast I never caught his name on the back of his jersey. Watch him start to run off Patty and Haas as the season progresses. Some teams are about to be shredded.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It's a bit concenring that Reyno admits he never had his best game and he missed two conversions and a FG attempt. Although we won, you would be hoping he'd be far more switched on for such a huge game. Still, he led the boys to another great victory and his kick for Capewell was an old time classic.👾👾👾

i said last week nrl should just change the rules regarding illegal tackles.

IF a player is injured and out for the game due to an illegal tackle that tackler should also miss the rest of game.

And Make it that the player cannot return until the player he injured does.

If that means whole season so be it.

I know its not perfect system but it would be a hell of a lot better than clown fiesta we have now called the judiciary. At least this method can eliminate bias
Terrible idea

It’s not the direct cause of the no try. They couldn’t award penalty try.

Reyno was remonstrating with the ref for a bit after and I believe I heard Klein respond "it wasn't in the act of scoring" which I don't believe the bunker touched on at all so I think they'd made their mind up pretty early on that they wouldn't be considering that, right or wrong. I think this might have also been the same discussion where Reyno went "can I just ask..." and Klein cut him off with "no you can't" and walked away lol. Guess our captain isn't allowed to talk to the ref.

I think over the course of this season, Herbie’s gonna regret signing with the dolphins. Wish he waited to play just a few weeks of footy in this team first
