NRL 2023 Round 2 Discussion

I agree but that's not the refs making the wrong calls. It's the amateur NRL admin who change the rules every other week.

Subjective obstruction call was just a cause for controversy every week because getting 10 different refs every week to rule subjectively on something as multi-faceted as obstruction inside/outside did the defender commit, did it cause any real disadvantages, would they have scored anyway, etc.

Way too many factors. Too many refs. Fans cry every week because the calls aren't consistent but they can't be, so they've went black and white and now you get ridiculous things like the no try against us.

You can't win.
So basically, they never should have started listening to the fans. I personally blame the increased media analysis and Gould being so vocal. If the game ended at the whistle, fine, result is locked, but now with all this Annesley explainer stuff it has just caused a huge spiral of rule changes and mistakes, etc.

Ball never touched the ground ... why is he calling held??

Sounds like you are saying it's a conspiracy to keep the competition close to me. They haven't really done a good job of it lately than have they. The same teams making the 8 and winning year after year. They would try and not benefit the top teams.
Would they not? Financial interests in the clubs would say otherwise. Melbourne is a cash cow, Penrith before Gus were leaking >$5Mill per year. Sharks... well, first location, second Scomo. Roosters - Politis = $$ and mates in high places. I see these as business decisions

If it was business decisions the Tigers and dragons wouldn't be disasters constantly.

I genuinely feel sorry for Tigers fans. That is a club that produces it own juniors, have recruited really well, have bought back the only coach who has ever done well there and still they can't catch or tackle. Their fans also seem passionate and always turn up no matter how bad they've been for how long now? And like Milf with us, they have to put up with trash from an over paid, useless hack week in, week out who never gets better, only worse. I feel so sad for them.

Man oh man we are gonna slaughter these mongs next week

Think you will find it was offside off the kick.
So why did the ref wait until AJ was taken out before calling the penalty?

Did he think a 10m run was more advantageous than a 30m kick down field....

To be fair that coach is the one that wanted to keep brooks. They could have given him away. Newcastle wanted him.

He looked like he was going to break free for a little bit there. Definitely was 10m penalty. Just rewinded
