Another great win. The scary part is that we can play better. Cut out some of those mistakes where we try and score off every half break and we will really tear one of the good teams apart. I'm really hoping we can put it all together on the day we play the Storm!

Haas has just gone to another level this year. Same with Flegler. When they are both on we are just dominating opposing forward packs.

I'm not a Billy Walters fan but to give credit where it's due he had a good game tonight.

Our forwards are superb, but i dont think they even got out of second gear tonight. Our backs were the ones who tore them apart.

It's inevitable, but I'm not worried. We won't be the only side to be losing players in that period, and it isn't like we have a few options that could play fullback in a depleted side. Herbie, Mariner, Sailor, Arthars, they could all feasibly cover the spot in the absence of Walsh and Cobbo.
Not sure Selwyn's earned his Origin recall just yet. Wasn't like he owned the position last year either.

I don't think any eyebrows would be raised whichever way, but he hasn't yet asserted himself like Hammer and Walsh have. And there's also the question of whether he's still in the doghouse over his podcast.

Billy is cooked if Coates gets in and Cobbo doesn’t. Even the little hint of Cobbo at fullback tonight was promising.

And Cobbo, regardless of how posters on here feel about him, he was first winger picked last year and he will be again this year.

Cobbo i'm not 100% sure about yet personally, but I think he will get the nod alongside Coates because we are a bit thin on the ground at the moment. Personally, i'd try to find a center and move Gagai out to the wing as both him and Holmes are so much better there.

I'm not worried about that, the more big games for our guys the better for experience and the start we've made to the season now means we can have a bad origin period now in terms of losses and still come back firing in the back end. We now have the luxury of being able to give players more rests than they otherwise might have had.
I'm a little bit worried about it. He's a massive part of the reason we look we can score anytime, from anywhere. And Selwyn has that knack too.

And also, while the odd player has come back levelled up - Flegler comes to mind - Staggs, Cobbo and Capewell returned broken last season, and I didn't think Patty was his best either (before his suspension).

Selwyn will be there, as long as he’s fit.

I am yet to see Coates have the powerful tough carries that Selwyn has, Coates gets bent back quite often. They’re both about as good as each other when it comes to scoring but the difference for mine is their intensity when bringing the ball out of tough areas.

That was last year when he started diabolically and then went on that scoring spree that made him the instant It Girl of the the NRL. He didn't really deserve to be picked, but he was such a fan favourite it was the crowd pleasing selection from a marketing perspective.

How do fans feel about him now? A little cooler than then for sure, but how much it's hard to say. He needs to score more tries in the next couple of games. And then it's a done deal.

Same with Coates.

I dont think you leave Gagai out of the team, especially on the wing for Cobbo or Coates. Gagai is up there with the greatest Origin wingers ever imo. He just flicks a switch and turns into a beast for Queensland there.

Yeah but he’s just about done. I’d give him a game and see if he can still do it but that’s the line up going forward imo
