If the contract was registered then DCE would still get his cash and it would be in the salary cap... unless he mutually agreed to walk away with nothing or was medically retired.NRL 360 were saying because he has a contract with the Roosters he'll still get his cash ... But because it hasn't been registered with the NRL yet, the Roosters could just make him a coach, and not have that contract counted on the salary cap
The talk was that it hadn't been registered with the NRL so rorters wouldn't have to pay him anything, but "Uncle Nick is a man of his word".
They suggested he would just become a halves coach straight away instead... but I dont think they'll be paying him $800k or whatever his playing salary was to be a coach... so if DCE retires he's walking away from a huge amount of money.
Im sure Uncle Nick won't compensate that in any other way though... maybe they'll talk it through over a friendly game of golf
