09/10 Football Thread

nice scotty.

id hate to swap any of those players besides abidal for robinho

Top shelf effort Scotty.

Torres should be playing, Gerrard won't be though. Mascherano probably won't either. Kuyt is in doubt and Kyrgiakos is out for 4-6 months, although he probably wouldn't have played.

In more positive news, Agger is back to full fitness! Aquilani is on the way back as well.

Needless to say, i'm not all that confident about this weekends game. Sunderland will be right up for it.

I dare say we may well dominate the midfield battle since you'll be without Mascherano. Cana and Cattermole are fit and firing, both in great form too. Cana is due for suspension should he pick up a yellow but I hope that doesn't mean a quiet performance from him.
Great news on Agger for Liverpool, Carragher's form has been patchy since last season so if Agger gets to form sooner rather than later it will be a much needed boost. It's about time we got to see Aquilani showcase his talents as well, it will be interesting to see what he can contribute.

Aye, i reckon Cana and Cattermole will overpower Lucas and whomever his partner is. Could be Plessis or Spearing.

Bent's pace and Jones' strength will cause many problems at the back for Liverpool IMO.

A replay of the 1992 FA Cup final!!! god knows how i know that. but i remember watching that game

Sunderland have been the best backed team all weekend in the EPL ...

Really? Probably for the first time since 2003

Well, so much for Torres being fit. He's just been ruled out along with Gerrard. Faaaaaaark.

Hopefully either Babel or N'Gog gets a run upfront.

This has to be the worst time to play Sunderland.

They're coming off the back of a 2-2 draw with last season's champions, we're missing our two most vital attacking players - Gerrard and Torres - and to cap it all off, the match is at the Stadium of Light!

Bring it on.

If I were you I would still expect to win. Being a Sunderland fan hardly instills you with confidence even in the best of times, Liverpool 2-1.

The Reds XI in full is: Reina, Johnson, Aurelio, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Lucas, Spearing, Benayoun, Babel, Kuyt. Subs: Cavalieri, Voronin, Riera, Mascherano, Insua, Ngog, Kelly.

Five at the back, fullbacks overlapping down the wing.

Bardsley has had one good game this season against man u, and unless Mensah is up for a big game at left fullback I can't see us being able to shut you down overly well there

Omfg.... I went to get a beer, got back, and we had scored. FML.

Haway the lads!!!!

I just saw the balloon goal..... all I can say is WTF and where the blueberry f*ck muffins did that come from?

Lol, terrible start for us. [icon_non

Wow, that balloon had a massive impact on the balls direction.

I can't see us scoring.
