09/10 Football Thread

Here comes bolo, hopefully he does a canny job

FFARRRRKKKK Reina with an error... so close to a 2nd

7 minutes stoppage time. Same advantage Man U would be given IMO, disgusting. That said, we should have at least 2 goals by now.

That is the most unprofessional piece of officiating I have ever seen. How that can possibly given as a goal is absurd. That shot was going straight to Reina and deflected a couple of meters right giving him no chance. In any situation if something comes onto the pitch which does or may impede with play the game is supposed to be pulled up and a drop ball should be awarded. That was just embarressing for the EPL and I hope for Liverpool fans sakes the referees is sacked.

It was a shocking decision, but Sunderland deserved to win anyway.

To be honest, they should have won 4-0 or something, missed a load of easy chances.

The seven minutes of injury time was because old mate Jones kept rolling around on the ground all game and Cattermole also took up a bit of time with his injury.

Upon watching the "incident" on replay, one can see clearly that the ball never made contact with the "balloon". The defender went for the ball but made contact with the "balloon" sending it veering to the left. The ball continued on a similar path to which it was kicked and the goalkeeper was put off by the new animation of the foreign object. Defensive blunder if I ever saw one. [icon_wink

Seriously though, that nuffie should have kicked the official round ball instead of the nice looking red one. icon_thumbs_u

I challenge you to see it differently and tell me that the ball made contact with the object, resulting in a changed path of the ball.

Ah, the normal ball bounced up off the red ball and to Reina's left.

Evidence? I slowed the incident down and the defender clearly makes contact with the balloon. Simultaneous boot on to the balloon and deflection of match ball off balloon?

Lol, evidence? It's in the clip from the match!

Johnson may have made contact with the balloon, but it was AFTER the ball's path had been altered.

I don't care that much anyway, we deserved to lose.

You are yet to vote. [icon_wink

Haha okay mate. Fair enough.

I still don't think it's as clear cut as people are making it out to be. Whatever though. It's over now.

As for you Ningnangnazi, I've taken this voting thing very seriously and have therefore left it to the last day possible. Got to take all the factors in to consideration up until the last day. [icon_wink

Doing it now.

That video just proves i was right! The ball is headed straight for Reina before changing course after hitting the balloon.

Johnson kicking the balloon doesn't play a role in it at all.

Little fella who threw it on the field is gonna cop it at school on Monday. [icon_lol1.

Haha oh yes, at televised action replay speed it looks like a clear deflection, but if we slow it down a little further... [icon_wink [icon_lol1.

It's very dodgy that such a goal was allowed though. I'd have thought the EPL would have even employed "Foreign Object Monitors". :P

Such is the level of intense organisation and scrutiny.

I would have expected this type of occurance in a South American or Swiss/Italian League with the flares [icon_wink, but certainly not in such a heavily scrutinised and highly "civilised" league such as the EPL. As I'm sure you'll agree.

Shit like that happens in football sometimes, you just have to take the bad with the good I suppose. I'm glad we're finally having some success and credit to you ning for being gracious in defeat.

+1

Gracious stuff mate. icon_thumbs_u

very tough for the ref. I HATE drop balls, they need to do something different then that shit.

In an attacking position, where the player scored, what if the ref said no goal, yet its no real fault of the attacking side. instead, its a drop ball where the liverpool defender now gets a free chance to boot the shit out of the ball and sunderland get absolutely no advantage at all.
