Is there even a vacant spot? Has Tate actually retired from Origin? Last I heard he was considering it but hadn't made a decision, which usually means they'll keep going when it comes to rep footy (at least for Queenslanders).

All hypothetical but the maroons back Line is fragile, if slater gets injured that opens a centre stop, same for hodges and Tate, both known to be injury prone then spots open up there

I still think JYY can come back as a good player, possibly even Origin standard, but I don't think it'll be this year. Main thing is for him to keep wanting to get back to that level and getting his confidence back - at some point it'll hopefully be his head holding him back rather than his leg, and he'll need to overcome that.

Speaking of injuries, let's just hope Edrick can come through this year unscathed. Was unlucky last year and his return should be a boost for the Raiders.

I agree with Alec, if Lee's fit, I'd have him over an O'Neil who I don't think has the ticker for Origin & Chambers who I simply don't rate as anything more than inconsistent. He can just as easily come up with good defensive reads as bad ones.

+1 for Copley here as well, not becuase i think he is Origin standard but like B4L says, Tuquri is no better than Maranta these days. Its sad to watch Tuquri now, his heart does not seem to be in it and the Souths contract is just a retirement fund buffer for him.

As for Copley, the guy has not yet put a solid string of quality first grade games together so to say he could be an Origin selection in 11 or so rounds is a bit much. Just because he has bulked up and looks like a tank does not mean he will suddenly scream rep player. There is being positive and there is saying shit for the sake of it.

If Copley can get himself to an automatic selection in the Broncos backline he would have had a great year, that is what i hope for from him.

Origin potential - yes. Origin chance in 2014 - not so much.

Whoever gets the Broncos starting centre spot at the time will definitely be considered if Hodges is still out by then. The Will Chambers definitely hasn't cemented his spot in the Origin team at all.
