After seeing the trials so far (before the WCC obviously), the side picks itself really. With the exception of Arrow in the 13, we pick up right where we left off last year, unless Bennett pulls a swift at the last minute and gives Moose a run at Lock. If he does that, that prop spot becomes pretty interesting and drags Joe O and Molo into the picture for the bench.

Mead will get game time while Kahu and Oates are on rep duty no doubt. Pearson will probably be in the frame as well. Seriously doubt Moga sees first grade at any point barring an injury crisis, and even then he's gonna be lucky. I'm predicting a fair few minutes for Nikorima off the bench this year, probably at the back end of both halves. That's the way I'd do it anyway. He's clearly the best option to replace Hunt next year, I just hope he piles some work into his kicking game and tackling in the lead up.

If I may dare suggest it, that backline is the best we've had since 2009, depth included. Speedsters, finishers, a third playmaker and captain at the back and a giant freak of a winger to help the forwards carry us out of our end. Niiiiiice. The forward pack is solid as well but a few question marks remain, most notably on Arrow and how he will deal with the added workload and pressure of a starting spot. If he doesn't go that well, I'd be keen to give Pangai Jr a run there. If he really is our Taumalolo, it's natural that's where he'd play regularly.

The lack of Su'a in my squad is a troubling one, but I honestly can't find a spot for him. I'd rather keep Pangai in the squad, and Glenn ain't getting dropped. He's a NZ international. It just ain't happening. It's a nice selection headache to have, but it's still a headache.

Not sure if you just forgot about sims or internationally left him out. But I do expect him to be there.

Nope, forgot about him. Adjusting.

Also, Internationally left him out? lol

so info getting around suggests that joe is trying to get reallocated back to souths rather than the jets (can hardly blame him though), also todd murphy could be the interesting one this year. rumblings around that norths have been told to play him at 9 instead of 7. he has been training a lot at 9 with the top squad so may well be they see him as the cover/utility option going forward?? his defense, organising and kicking game is superior to nikorima's, so could be on the cards during the season or just extra cover

I can't see opacic in ahead of mead . And I think the bench will be rotated a bit too fit joe /Ese'ese/ sims in.

Did you just say Kahu/Opacic? There is 0 chance Opacic is picked ahead of Kahu haha. Also Mcguire is a certainty for first shot at lock.

Tommy wont be in front of Kahu, but if Kahu isnt playing well once Tommy is fit he will put him under pressure. I still worry about Kahu at centre tbh in terms of him getting injured, no worries about his ability.

I still have doubts Roberts is going to keep his nose clean tbh.

If we can get a full season out of Kahu, he will stamp his authority as being the best outside back the Broncos possess. As for the Jet, if in the unlikelihood that he stays on the straight and narrow in the future, he can easily become a "20 try a season" player. You can win premierships around these two strike centres in an ideal world.

Other than Boyd, Kahu would be the first player picked in that back 5. He is as safe as they come, is the first choice goal kicker, and is very very talented finisher, as well as being able to kick the ball very accurately when running at full pace. I think Tom Opacic will never be a first choice centre for any club. Bloke was too slow. I really rated him in his first few games but that game against the cowboys he really got found out in defence and just couldn't keep up with centres, fullbacks and five/eigths running at him.

Did you forget last year when Opacic played at centre and Kahu on the wing?

Kahu is our primary goal kicker isn't he?

Milf second option?
