2017 Line-up

Did you forget last year when Opacic played at centre and Kahu on the wing?
That is a very different situation. That was because Opacic + Kahu was a more viable option than swapping Kahu to the other side and throwing pearson in to the mix. You cannot possibly compare the two for this season with a full preseason underway and a specialist, experienced winger brought in to fill the void kahu would have created on the right wing.

I have to ask, can someone show me a video or anything of Kahu running at full pace last year? Not being a smart ass or anything, I just can't think of any.

There was a game in 2015 where he hit the ball up in a kick return and broke through the line to race away nearly the length of the field. Can't remember who it was against. Was a beast epic effort.

Was it 2016 where he dove on a grubber just before it went dead to score a try? Bloke isn't the fastest guy, but he is a lot quicker than Opacic and offers a lot more in attack. To compare the two is actually insane. Kahu is a rep player, Opacic is a Q Cup player.

Yeah, a Ben Hunt kick.

It's what happens when players chase his kicks. :superhappythumbsup:

Kick was mud. Wayyyy too deep which was unnecessary, luckily kahu was able to save the day. Actually a lot of the kicks hunt did that lead to tries were too hard. like both milford ones he had to jump and reach and only just able to get them. Stop defending Hunt haha.

He was great in 2015 but he spent most of last year pretty much walking whenever he had the ball. He was obviously trying to not injure himself with Karmichael Hunt like hit ups but it really seemed too soft.

It was against the knights.

It was the start of second half.

My god that music is terrible.

What's the point of including commentary if the music is just going to overpower it to a point where you can't hear the commentary?

It doesn't make sense.

Yeah definitely no superfreak production (I didn't make the video btw, even i'd do a better job than that guy)

If we can get a full season out of Kahu, he will stamp his authority as being the best outside back the Broncos possess. As for the Jet, if in the unlikelihood that he stays on the straight and narrow in the future, he can easily become a "20 try a season" player. You can win premierships around these two strike centres in an ideal world.

Opacic a strike centre???

Did you forget last year when Opacic played at centre and Kahu on the wing?

You mean when we had a heap of injuries and Bennett didn't want to disrupt the right side. Opacic is back up at best .

I said the same thing to myself.

Yeah this will be it.

Only possible change I can think of is Bennett decides we've got to find a place for Su'a. Either Glenn or the utility are the only possible spots. But dropping Glenn would leave no experience on the bench so the only way that could work is if Thaiday was benched for Su'a. Maybe a bit of a long shot compared to Niko/Benji losing their spot, but I think something along the lines of either is a possibility.

There is Bennettfits (started as a typo but I like it) for Su'a being thrown in the deep end for the first game of the season - it's a chance to see him in a game with more of a 'big match' feel then the rest of the regular season.

Gillo/Glenn/Thaiday to lock is the other possibility to get Su'a in, but all signs seem to point to Moose getting it.

He's pretty good...

Kahu and mead really did have some sensational highlights together. I know Roberts probably didn't net the individual accolades I and most may have expected last year, but his presence really creates opportunities for his outside men if nothing else.

It seems inevitable kahu will start at centre which seems most logical, but damn can he finish (as seen there and nines). I hope, and am hopeful we don't lose anything by having mead outside Roberts
