2018 NRL Side

Funny that! Because that's our depth atm
Which is no stronger or weaker than any depth on any side in the comp. Nobody has depth anymore, the players who miss out look for a better opportunity elsewhere. Any side missing their star five eighth, their first preferred #9 and their star recruit are going to struggle.

Dargan to 7, Nikorima to 6, Kahu to 1, Mead to 5, Opacic to 4, McGuire to 9, TPJ to 13 with a bench of Thaiday, Ofahengaue, Mago and Fai. Realistically though we will definitely be signing a depth hooker at some point this off-season and I imagine he would be in the side if McCullough isn't ready.

So what happens to Boyd?

Bennett's got the media stammering and guessing already. Apparently our 2018 season is in tatters because Milford and Bird might miss a game or 2 at the start.
That's it! Fuckit! We might as well forfeit the season.

A bad start to the season can be very hard to recover from and can take a bit of time.

But we'll be fine.

Could move boyd to the halves for a game or 2 and put isaako at the back. And throw opacic in the centre spot. Hooker is a harder problem to solve currently.

What a terrible side. Let's hope the injured troops all have a quicker than usual recovery because the team you have in mind won't win a game.

We could still beat Newcastle and Tigers with that.

Except the roosters that is.

Lose Cronk/Keary sub in Pearce (Jnik if one leaves
Lose Teddy sub in Gordon & Manu to wing
Lose Friend sub in the young guy from last year with Jnik/Keary/Pearce on the bench.

Really shows how BS the "cap" situation is.

Cowboys made the GF.

Cowboys made the GF.
What star recruit were they missing though? They were only minus JT and Scott and couple of lesser knowns. The Cowboys organization is traveling a hell of a lot better than the Broncos and has for the past decade. Brisbane is still recovering from six years of mismanagement, it will take another five to fully shake it off.

No Star recruit sure, but losing their best and most influential two players and they still made the GF with their depth shows it is possible. Depth is now in the form of the bargain basement players like Moga etc - there's still value, but you gotta be crafty.

Totally agree, making the GF under those circumstances was astronomical. I also agree with your point that you make the most with what you got. Moga playing every game last season and performing soundly was something not foreseen by even by the greatest of mediums. It still would be a tremendous battle for the Broncos to perform without those three guys. Thankfully, if it does happen, it will only be briefly.

Melbourne do alright! Most definitely any side would, but having good depth will go along way to a premiership.

Let's be honest, cowboys were playing good. But they were given a free ride by the refs the finals series. This is being non bias. And obviously this is the case because they got destroyed on the biggest arena of all.

Oh and talking about the final series, I think it was the least exciting final series and grand final since I started watching rugby league. The NRL rode this storm fairytale they sucked the living hell out of that Cooper fairy tale.

Offa and TPJ are both in Tonga’s 17 this week that’s great news.

I wish we would sign Matt Parcell back from the super league. **** Manly ruined that poor kid :(

‘He’ ruined him. Manly weren’t going to get rid of Ballin just like we weren’t getting rid of McCullough. He could have stayed here and develop a decent career as a super-sub but no. Someone got in his ear and told him he would be a superstar elsewhere.

Now he isn’t even playing NRL.

Should be illuminating to those who think the grass is greener elsewhere...

From all reports he's killing it in Super League though. I guess THAT grass is greener at least.

Parcell is absolutely superb in SL, so he is a superstar elsewhere.
