2019 Broncos Line-up

I agree. Nikorima could end up as our best performing half this year. I feel like he will respond to Seibold's coaching and he'll have his mind set on doing the little things right. I feel like Nikorima is better than Milford at incorporating the players around him into his game plan.

None of those things are correct and it would take a season ending injury to Milford for Nikorima to be our best half this year.

Wasn’t Nikorima shopped to the warriors not too long ago and we tried to cover it up.

Could someone please post the article from cm about the young gun vying the our halfback position? I assume they are referring to Paix. They mentioned something about a Cooper Cronk clone.

That must be the 10th "clone" of an established superstar we have among our juniors.

Or the media are just lazy morons who write crap and know nothing. I know what I think is more likely.

How are none of the things I said correct?

I think it's pretty narrow minded to assume there's no possibility of Nikorima improving and having a better year than Milford

Yeah, apparently we have Allan Langer and Cooper Cronk waiting to play for us.

Yeah it's standard practice now it seems. I just hope we hold on to right players out of this young crop of halves. I would be devastated if one of them becomes the next big thing at another club. It's been a long time since we have had one of the league's best playmakers at our club.

I think there's a very good possibility he improves, I think there's a less than 5% chance he has a better year than Milford.

As I said, Milford would essentially have to be out a majority of the season for that to happen, for all the shit he cops, Milford is still significantly better in every aspect of the game to Nikorima, except for maybe dummy and running through holes left by tired forwards.

I think we should see some nice Nikorima short balls to Fifita on the right edge, who will make a great decoy too for Roberts to receive the ball out the back.

I like Niko, but if one of Dearden, Paix, SOS, or Boyd live up to the hype then we'd be Bulldogs dumb (when they let JT go to keep Sherwin) to let them walk for Niko's sake. So in his best case scenario he has 12 months in the half back spot, or he does well enough to force Milf back to FB which won't happen.

Off topic, but there's 2 spots left in the BHQ SuperCoach league if anyone wants to join (I figure there's a few people who exclusively view and post in the Broncos section and don't venture down to the Fantasy sports section)

Head on down there and grab the league code if you're keen to join. <3

What thread is the code in?

Cory Paix carves out his own identity as he battles for Broncos No.7 jumper

He looks and talks like Cooper Cronk but Broncos young gun Cory Paix is determined to be his own man in his quest to unseat Kodi Nikorima as Brisbane’s No.1 halfback.
Broncos fans could be forgiven for thinking the club have poached Sydney Roosters champion Cronk when they lay eyes on his lookalike Paix in Saturday night’s trial against Wynnum Manly at Kougari Oval.
The physical parallels between Cronk and Paix are eerie. At 180cm and 87kg, Paix is two centimetres taller and one kilogram lighter than Cronk and he possesses the same slick haircut as the former Queensland Origin star.
Even the way Paix speaks - polished, articulate, polite and measured - suggests he is cut from the same intellectual cloth as Cronk.
But when it comes to playing style, the 19-year-old is keen to carve out his own identity in his four-way battle with Nikorima, Tanah Boyd and 17-year-old Tom Dearden for the Brisbane No.7 jumper.
“I’ll take the comparisons (to Cronk),” Paix says with a laugh.

“People say I look like Cooper, but I want to be my own sort of player.
“Cooper Cronk is a great player and obviously I’d love to achieve what he has in the game, but it’s important I do what works for me.
“I just want to be known for my style.”
The Queensland under-18s representative made a fair statement last week, scoring a clever solo try in his senior Brisbane debut as the Broncos thumped Souths Logan 42-0 in their season-opening trial at Warwick.
Now the Toowoomba junior gets another chance to impress, named on the bench for Saturday night’s hitout against Intrust Super Cup feeder-club Wynnum Manly.

Broncos coach Anthony Seibold wants Paix to serve a 12-month apprenticeship with Redcliffe this season, but the halfback or hooker says he would not let Brisbane down if given an NRL baptism this season.
“I think NRL is still a while away but I’m preparing for whatever the Broncos throw at me,” Paix said.
“It’s a big year for me. I will be playing for the Redcliffe Dolphins in the Intrust Super Cup, so it’s definitely a stepping stone and I will look forward to progressing throughout the year.
“At the moment I’m training as a halfback. I have played a bit of hooker but that’s more of a bonus if anything, it’s a great investment in my future and adds another string to my bow.
“It was good to get that taste of senior footy (last week), so if I do get the opportunity to play NRL this year, I will be ready for it.”

The point of SuperCoach is to win.

I'm taking the POD route this year. Too many sides will start with the high priced guns and it will be boring to share a team with over 50% of the comp. ( I play overall and H2H takes care of itself )

Lodge and Ofahengaue are owned by around 3% and TPJ is owned by 50%..

Who out of those three do we expect to get the most minutes?
