FOOTBALL 2023 FIFA WWC Discussion

That was a brilliant goal from Santos.

Who would everyone prefer?

England or Colombia?

not really sure. if you want to go by the world rankings, then we want Columbia to win.

world rankings are:

4. England
10. Australia
25. Columbia

***** sake step away for a bit and England have taken the lead.

Yeah, they are being tested, but they're very good as a team. A lot of ball movement and it doesn't all rely on one player.

And that's game.

Matildas take on England in the SF.

England really weren't that good. Colombia had their chances to win that game but their execution was poor. Very winnable game for us.

France are much than England IMO, I reckon our girls are better than England but doing it under pressure won't be easy.

Fucking keen though, beating England would be chef's kiss.

The one thing I do worry about is the lack of rotation with the squad and the fact that we hardly made any subs against France and it went all the way to penalties while England’s game was finished in the first 90.

There were some very tired legs by the end of extra time against France.

I hope fatigue is not going to be a factor.

The Matildas’ win over France on Saturday night was one of the biggest TV sporting audiences in two decades, reaching an average of more than 4.9 million people – not including the hundreds of thousands of people watching in stadiums, pubs and on outdoor screens.

Ratings data compiled by measurement company OzTAM shows the late stages of the game reached 3.04 million people in major cities and another 1.26 million in regional areas on Seven, which owns the free-to-air broadcast rights.

That total, plus another 598,000 on Seven’s 7plus TV app, meant 4.9 million Aussies tuned in for the penalty shootout. Just over 4 million watched most of the game, which reached 7.2 million people in total, Seven said.

Any wonder the stream was fucked. This doesn't include Optus or venues full of people.

What a weird thing to promise by the PM, I can only imagine he wasn't expecting them to get this far lol.

PM said he would push for it, but ultimately it's up to the states, not him.

Seems like there's going to be a bit of opposition pushing for the public holiday to not happen.

*****.

Libs can't have business paying even more penalty rates. I mean the sheer audacity
