It isn't even debatable - Martin is the clear number 1 second rower in the comp.

Who is number two is very debatable though of course and you have a bunch of contenders who are vastly different - the explosive types in Fifita and Kikau for example, the hard workers in the likes of Capewell, Nanai, etc but in my very biased opinion, I think we already have the number 2 unless I am missing someone completely - Riki.

Wouldn't say Nanai is hard worker at club level... Goes missing pretty consistently.

Maybe I might be insane to think this but I feel if Reyno was injured for a game our best team for just a game atleast is Sailor at Fullback and Walsh at 7.

I would atleast like to see what that results in, Walsh's kicking game is definitely good enough from what I have seen he is our second best kicker in general play, it's a step up on Madden(from what I have seen) and Sailor plays a very similar game to Walsh as it is being basically a 85% Walsh playing there, from everything he has shown for us, Walsh is a better kicker than Madden by a margin tbh, he got another 40/20 in the trials when he was given primary kicker status(so did Tristian too later).

Sure it sounds crazy but I think it would help Walsh in his playmaking fullback style doing it for a game, at his age and the way he has developed I think this would be a good long term development option even as a one game plan.

Say we do it and it works and we win, I would still revert at that stage to Walsh playing fullback after and treat it purely as a learning experience he would learn alot from it.

Error rate would be horrendous .

Walsh`s strength is catching the ball on the run and beating defenders with pace . His weakness is tackling .
You want him running from a standing start and for him to tackle 2nd rowers and centres all game .

Recipe for disaster in my opinion .

Broncos should have just got Hunt to coach the Broncos this week and Ballin leave on time.

Five real Magpies then add in Broncos Magpies.

Also… seeing these white jerseys and the ridiculous collars… not sure I’m a fan anymore 🤔

It was weird watching Manly v Manly. I am not sure where the Broncos were because I didn't see any Broncs jersey out there.

Mozer played lock ? !
Two hookers taking turns at dummy half WTF ?

Mozer is a lot better tackler than I gave him credit for . I like his agression .
Watch out Smoothy .

When Mozer is ready (and he doesn't look that far off now) and then gets injected in to the team, look out opposition defenses. He is quick, so imagine him coming in against tired forwards with Ezra and Reece sniffing around off the back of his quick darts. I like out current hooker rotation but neither has the speed Mozer has.

Also, and I am not sure anyone else will see it, but there is something Gillett about Patston.

I haven't watched the game yet but that's Interesting.
Could be a way for Mozer to work his way into the 17 eventually if he's got a versility to play lock.
I think he done something similar in games Ive seen him play for keebra. May be wrong though

Forget about Christian on the bench .
What Mozer did yesterday has me wondering if he could play utility ?

I will admit I had my doubts , but now .
I`m on the Mozer train baby . WOOT WOOT !!

Souths did it last year in the finals against Easts to keep Mozer and Paix on together. Then Paix got sin binned so it ended. It's more Paix playing a half role then Mozer playing lock.

I saw the opposite yesterday .
More than once Mozer at 1st or 2nd receiver . That`s why it stood out to me . Mozer out in the open throwing passes or hitting holes . WTF !??
He will be a strong Mo Fo in a year or two with more gym work . He`s competitive now , but more beef won`t be a bad thing for him .

Oh and Paix tried to steal Mozer`s move with TeKura . Came close ,but Mozer does it closer to the line . That`s what stopped Te Kura yesterday a cpl of metres too far out to get there .

Surprised we put 40 on them but not really reading too much into it.

Your obsession with big men needs to stop.

It's not the WWE.

No where near enough yellow on that jersey.

But with regards to the game; patston was awesome, and has put his hand up in each of the trials. He wouldn't be a bad addition to cover second row. He showed some silky skills with a kick that led to a try and some soft hands, but is otherwise a no frills grafter which is the type of player I like.

Ferguson was also really strong, and reminded me a little of hetherington (without the defence that cuts people in half though).

Rogers was more involved than he was against wynumm and falls much better to.

Te kura probably had his best game of the trials. Strong runs and PCMs. Still raw but improved.

Mozer was pretty tidy around the ruck. He Led the line speed a lot, got involved in defence. I do think people are expecting a bit much from him. People expect that because he has wraps on him he should be busting teams open, making line breaks, laying on several try assists a game. Hooker is one of the hardest positions to come into as rookie. If he is causing some ruck deception, giving the ball runners some time, providing clean service and strong in defence, i am happy. He needs time. Walters and smoothy still our two best 9s at this time though.

Hoeter also consistently good, and played fullback too. Out of the box idea, If kevie wanted to carry a back on the bench, I would be more inclined to go with hoeter. He covers the outside backs, but he is also a ball of muscle that is strong, runs a mean hard and fast line, and pretty good defender. Also a mature player. I think he could cover second row if riki or piakura needed a breather in a game. That is not to say if riki or piakura were out of a game through injury or suspension I would start him there, I would look at patston or hunt. But as a bench player you could do worse if kevie decides he wants to carry a back too.
