I hope you are going to apologise to him. So he can throw his hands up in the air and walk away from you.

I'll apologise to him when he apologises to me for wasting 60 minutes watching the game last week.

Why would he @Huge ? He can continue doing nothing as he is now and get the full pay. If he had a dinner suit on last Thursday it would not have needed dry cleaning.
Err, you ask 'why would he'?. It seems kind of obvious, here's a hint. The answer was included in my post.

Justin Hodges calls for changes at the Broncos, says he would have hired Kevin Walters over Anthony Seibold

Brisbane Broncos legend Justin Hodges has unloaded on his old club, questioning the culture within the current playing group at Red Hill. Hodges also said he would have hired Kevin Walters over coach Anthony Seibold to replace the unwanted Wayne Bennett, and called for significant changes to the side's starting line-up.

Hodges, who retired after Brisbane's heart-breaking 2015 Grand Final loss, echoed Tallis' sentiments.
"I think the Broncos culture has been lost over the years," Hodges told Sporting News.
"That's no disrespect to the players playing, but a lot of the players playing now wouldn't know the old players. "That's something that the Broncos have always been proud about.
"I heard Gordy Tallis talking about it - it's a place where winners want to be, and I think that's something we've lost over the last few years. "Hopefully we can get that back." Hodges said the current side lack the type of strong leaders who would pull everyone into line back in the day. "Gordy, Wendell, Lote Tuqiri, Tonie Carroll were the guys," he said.

"Wendell - I was only a young 16 or 17-year-old kid - and you'd drop the ball and he'd be into you in front of all these people. "It taught you good habits. You've gotta get heckled by your teammates.
"All those unbelievable teams of the '90s and 2000s, they all played for each other and that's what we need to get back to." Having played in the last Broncos premiership winning side in 2006, Hodges said Walters could have instilled that 'Broncos culture' back into the side. "It's a tough decision. For me personally, I would've chosen Kevvie Walters - no doubt about that," he said.

"It's purely because I love Kevvie, he's a great person and a great friend, and what he's been able to achieve at the Broncos. "That's so important. It's a big club and a proud club in a one-team town and there's so much pressure. "Having someone who's been there and had the success he's had, he could install that Broncos culture." Speaking at the Star Casino to announce his next professional boxing match on May 15, Hodges said Broncos halves Anthony Milford and Kodi Nikorima aren't performing, and called for serious changes.

"They've gotta fix a few things and change a few players in a few positions to try and get a bit of a spark," Hodges said. "At the moment our halves aren't going the best that they can. "They've got Sean O'Sullivan from the Roosters, so maybe put him in there and put Kodi back to 14, where he came on in 2015, and where he really performed well for us. "(Nikorima) is so quick on his feet and it takes a bit of pressure off him as well, so he doesn't have to think about things. You just want him coming out and creating opportunities for himself and others.

"Maybe some other positions need to have a look to spice things up. They're a little bit predictable and teams are starting to read that. "Hopefully the boys can pull together, it's only round four and there's a long way to go, but they've gotta start hitting their straps soon."

Maybe Hodgo would be a better coach. He can see what Seibold is either too blind or stupid to realise - i.e. Nikorima should be at 14.

Tallis and Hodges can get fucked.

Seibold was and absolutely is the right option to replace Bennett even if I still strongly believe Bennett deserved the extra year. It's kind of pissing me off that all these ex players are bagging out the club and taking swipes at Seibold just because their mate didn't get the job.

Being a great player for us doesn't mean he'll be a good coach, our best ever coach was barely noteworthy as a player. In fact all the best coaches today were not noteworthy players. If Walters was serious about the Broncos job he would have taken the Titans offer, proved himself as an NRL coach and with results behind him he'd have walked into a Broncos job. Going from a coaching position that is Origin to an NRL coach is not something that any serious club is going to put a lot of weight into.

Meh. At least Hodges admits he's biased and it's only because he's his mate.
Still a cop out. If he loves the club, get down to training and have a word. Inspire them. Pump them up. With everyone outside of the club heaping shit on them I'm sure they'd love having a few of the old boys come in for support for a training session. Telling the world we made the wrong coaching appointment after 4 bloody weeks is crap and if anything would only make the players second guess their efforts and direction instead of everyone being behind them.

Guys settle down with the criticism, let the young dudes get a year of experience under Seibold and see where we are at by the end of the year. Used to be really pissed off, with x and/or y player and why we were shitty week in week out but have just realized that my expectations were unrealistic. We cannot bring back the glory days of Langer/Walters/Lockyer reign. Let us learn to accept that this young crop need to forge their own history from here on. I support this team to the core, and not about to give up on the Broncos now just because we have more L's in the win column.

Isn't Hodgo an assistant coach with broncs... thought I read that Parker, Hodgo and someone else come in as specialty coaches one day a week

Understand Tallis has a bone to pick and won’t let go of it, but surprised and a little annoyed at Hodges particularly the timing.

Know full well if we were travelling a tad better he would have kept his mouth shut. Have a lot of time for Justin and never thought he’d be one to come out with this sort of rubbish.

Unfortunately being a good bloke doesn't mean you're a good coach.

I hate it when the old boys come out and start banging on about how good of a bloke Walters is and how he's a Bronco through and through. None of that really matters. None of that means you're going to be successful.

Hook was a good bloke. I've had several chats with him and he really is a good bloke. But he just couldn't hack it as a head coach.

I do think people read a bit too much into his time at Catalans. It was early in his career and when he came back he got into a few roles that allowed him to learn from some of the best coaches in the business. However, I just don't think he would handle being an NRL head coach.

As QLD coach, I saw some signs last year that didn't fill me with confidence, I saw a man that was cracking under the pressure.

This. I'd actually love a reporter to ask Seibold about Hodges etc and their comments and see what his reaction would be. He'd likely drop a generic response but imagine if he actually called them out on it?

"I haven't put any sort of restrictions in place with regards to former players or anything so if they're that concerned about things, come have a chat. Unfortunately, nobody has raised these concerns with me directly. I'd love to have some of these ex players around who were there in the glory years, talking to such a young squad. I want to change some things in the way these guys play footy...that's it. Not the culture of the place. Come down to the next training session lads."

From what I heard, the Broncos board were actually strongly considering Kevin Walters prior to his exit. They apparently thought of him as the man to replace Bennett.

But then he left the club, and apparently the board were very unhappy with the way he did it and pretty much blacklisted him from then on.
