Did I read correctly that he is not aloud to use social media? Asking a kid in their early 20's to not use social media is like asking a person not to breathe. He has no chance.

That's why I was wondering if he may have put things forward... he has said in the past that he reduced his social media presence (after his stint with Tonga).. he's probably let it get out of hand and may have offered that he will take himself off socials.

I wonder how it will be dealt with if he's involved in other people's social media posts... what if dickheads like Norman or Quade include him in posts on a night out??

The inclusion of media in general suggests the broncos weren't happy about his interview with fuckwit Hooper

Fellow pacific islander and I believe he has been working with community groups and Fijian footy since retirement so will be aware of mentoring. Petero was an excellent captain for the panthers and has also been vocal in defending the broncos on social media.

He's one of the most humble and respected forwards in the game and an absolute legend of the broncos... Webcke ticks similar boxes, but I think Petero may be able to relate more with the cultural aspects that TPJ holds in high regard and how to be a role model for those smaller pacific island nations

Personally I really hope we keep him. With a functioning backline, a happy team, and a good coach he's invaluable. From memory he said he always wanted to play for the Broncos.
After the pain of losing David Fifita, I really think if the club can get it together and cross that bridge with TPJ for better things. It would be a waste to let him go now.
From someone who lives in Melbourne, I can tell you this year has been particularly unique, and punishing from personal experience. With that in mind I think we got to give these young guys some slack.
He hasn't got caught with drugs, a sex scandal, some violence, or anything like that I know of. Players have done FAR worse, and have been retained. Some have gone on to make amends. (Simple Jack etc)
I'll reiterate these players are young, a lot of them away from family in what is really a historic year with great uncertainty. 5 times, 3 times. What are we talking here? He has been honest from what I can tell.
It's inappropriate to judge him from a zoom call act of contrition. These guy's aren't trained public speakers or Hollywood actors.
He's still young with his best years just ahead of him. Sometimes forgiveness builds trust. David Fifita and Bali are a different situation with 1.25 mill on the table. Now my emotions have subsided I'd rather keep TPJ if it were still a choice. He's far more punishing in defence, and fantastic in attack when the team has a good coach.

No you're only half right here. He is ALLOWED to use social media, he just has to be quiet. He cannot do it aloud.

They should have added the caveat "if Mr Pangai Junior is found guilty by the match review committee and issued a suspension in 2021, his contract will be torn up."

May have been a good opportunity to fix his on-field discipline.

IF TPJ had that sort of dirt on us, he could have gotten a much better deal for himself ... he certainly wouldn't have sacrificed 25% of his 2020 salary

Lets face it, we all know why they didn’t just straight out sack him.

We are complete crap and need all the talent we can get. It’s what sh*t clubs do, bend over and cop it, because they haven’t got any choice.

It is no surprise to me at all that he isn’t gone. Our board has the spine of a jellyfish.
