I can't believe that people are now arguing that 5/8th is Milfords best position lol. Did you guys watch him play at fullback and at 5/8th? At fullback he killed it for 2 years. Absolutely tore teams up. He played very much like Lockyer did, chiming in as a playmaker when he wanted to. From 5/8th he was nowhere near as effective as he had far less time and space, and was the focal point in attack. Defenders knew he was getting it, and knew where he was at all times.

and yet after the positional switch to the halves, the Raiders looked more dangerous and actually started winning some games.

If i'm honest with you I don't know, and I don't really care.

I rate Boyd more than I rate Barba, people have different opinions on that and that's fine, whatever, people are entitled to their own views. Barba at his best is probably better than Boyd at his best, but personally I dont think Barba will ever get back to that level, injuries and confidence aside (although they are two big reasons imo), he reminds me of a player in any code who has a superhuman year and basically struggles for the rest of his career to get back to that point. Boyd + milford is better than barba + milford, imo. barba and milford are too samey for mine, I'd rather some degree of variation, and if that's the choice, I'd rather Milford. He doesn't come with the baggage that barba has, nor does he have the level of expectation barba has/bad (sure Milford is expected to be great, but i'd guess we're willing to wait for him to hit that potential, whereas Barba is expected to hit it right now​ because of something he did 2 years ago).

but to use Stuart as some sort of voice of reason when most people can admit he's a shambolic coach, doesnt exactly aide ones argument y'know?

Just quietly Queenslander, how on earth do you know what his best position is bud? Unless you're claiming that Ricky's 6 week experiment last season was a fair sample size? He was playing in a spine of McCrone, Rapana and Buttriss and you're willing to just completely write him off in the position? Pull your head out.

He played all his juniors in the halves and completely dominated, let's give him a full pre-season in the position, along side an elite spine, he'll be dominant next year, just you wait.

Ok now ill take the bait. The only person that "matters" apparently is Wayne Bennett. Ricky Stuart clearly didnt share the opinion hes best position is 6 or he wouldve been there all year, not just at the end to cover injuries. It's not just "some fans" that think his best position is fullback, its a majority of the rugby league community at this stage. To suggest the majority of people in the know think he is a better 6 is just a blatant lie

It is interesting that you find a differing opinion to yours as 'bait'... but that's a whole other issue.

A majority of the rugby league community? who is this exactly? seeing that he also played 6 in the u20's orgin obviously that part of the community missed the memo.

The point is most people view 6 as his best position moving forward and are prepared for some short term pain while he develops there for the long term gain

Yep, and this is probably the thing I can stand the least at the moment. People can't actually disagree with the point that has been made so the just answer in a way that has no context to the discussion.

Yet you telling me that "only fans" actually think milford is a better fullback isnt just to increase ur "e-peen"?

I love how just coz bennett wants him to play 6 it suddenly makes that the "right answer". Whatever. We will see next year when he is a shadow of his former self.

What's Barba got to do with this? We're talking about whether Milford should be playing Five-Eighth or Fullback.

No he didn't. I'm from Mackay and well versed in the Barba brothers, Rod, Aaron, Ben and Marmin.

They have always been back page news there because of their talents.

He was the fullback for Mackay before he moved to Sydney.

He may well have played in the halves when he was 12 or 13 but when he started hitting mature age he was played as a fullback.

Hoffman played his juniors in the halves as well, so no, it certainly doesn't mean shit in the NRL.. but the point is that it's not a completely new experience for Milford, it's not like he has to LEARN how to play the position, he's already got the talent, he's played the position heaps, he's alongside talented players and he's in what is now a pretty experienced spine..

If he was ever going to be a good Five-Eighth, it's going to be here.

No, because for one that's not what I'm even saying.

I'm saying that the people that matter think that matter think that his future lies in the halves and are prepared to develop him there. I am not and have never said that as of right now he is a better 6 than fullback, so stop spinning statements to suit your argument

Milford might be a very good six one day. But IMO he is a better fullback now than he is a five eight, and no matter how good a five eight he becomes, he would have been able to become an equally good if not better fullback.
