RUMOUR Anthony Seibold offered $1 Million to leave

I'm not sure you could call the previous selection process 'full and proper'. It's public knowledge now that it was certainly contentious to say the least.

I agree about the rest though, no way should Walter be appointed without consulting the new CEO and that means Gentle likely has the reigns for the balance of 2020 now.
By "full and proper" I meant for the record, the public record, and irrespective of its contentiousness, that process is on record, and the board is accountable for that
"Full and proper" is taking the advice of the Broncos think tank located at BHQ. The stipulation being sack Seibold, give Kevvie a trial run. Two year contract. No more, no less. He gets judged on year two.

Yes, I agree it would make sense for the incoming CEO to be involved in the choice of coach. I'm also pretty sure Walters would be Ikin's choice, and I'm certain he will already have been consulted if the decision has been made.

For what it's worth, I don't think they were wrong to appoint Seibold given he was the current Dally M coach of the year at the time. The length of contract and lack of clauses in their favour, though, that's a different topic. That was a monumental **** up.
I'm really confident if they'd made the call on a new CEO then they'd have made it public by now. At bare minimum it should have leaked, given basically everything leaks in the media these days. Doubly so if that person was Ikin.

Much like Gentle, White is just in Caretaker mode these days, so if they've made up their mind on his replacement then it would be in their best interests to call it publicly and then get him started in the job.

I guess given who owns both Ikin's current and potential new employer, there is a possibility it's being held up while they handle what to do with NRL360 I guess?

I'd just be happy if everyone of the interviewers turned up for every one of the interviews - regardless of the Interviewee being Craig Bellamy or Peter Gentle. That's certainly a greater professional courtesy than we showed all the applicants last time.

I'd suggest that they had a plan in the works before he even publicly announced he was going for it.

Not necessarily. And this is exactly what happened with Seibold and Walters last time. They'd already decided on Seibold but accepted a bunch of applicants for window dressing. One of whom was Kevin Walters, who was clearly never in the running. Call it the appearance of due process, if you like. It's very very common in hires.

They've had 500 applicants for CEO. They have to at least go through the motions of pretending they're in the running.

It'll certainly be fascinating to see who they go with. Probably more fascinating that who the Broncos appoint for the role.

It's taken it's time, but Ikin and Kent have if nothing else built up quite a reasonable on camera chemistry between them that I suspect will be a challenge to replicate in a short space of time.

My biggest question surrounding this, is if Kevvie becomes coach, what will Gorden Tallis have to talk about in the media for the next 2 years.
They'll try to poach him.

I doubt the board will sack Seibold. My take on this is that Seibold approached Morris to discuss an exit strategy, or, vice versa, and that Seibold will cite primarily, family reasons which for mine is legitimate. The $1M offer to quit may well be part of the exit package however bottom feeding scum like Dobbo and his sensationalist media buddies are driving their personal agendas to sell stories as well as feathering a nest for Walters, who of course has denied any contact with the board about a coaching job

That's true, but Head Coaches are scarcer on the ground than competent CEO's who'd be keen on the Broncos gig. It's got to be one of the most attractive commercial postings anywhere in Australian sport. I'd imagine that they've had some pretty impressive names come across their desk and they'd have to be pretty foolish to not take some of those names seriously. In saying that, doing the rushed and foolish thing is probably exactly what the current board and Chairman would do, so you're very likely right.

Yep, Bingo.

Really reinforces my point about his marketability. It's very, very easy to market a guy when you've got his cheer squad in the media talking him up several nights a week.

That window dressing is still legitimate grounds for the board's accountability for their decision. If they now appoint Walters, they will be forced to admit they were wrong in signing Seibold. I'll look forward to that admission, and the reasons they give why they were wrong

Seibold does not give away 6 agains that lead to the fatigue that causes blow out scores .
Does not miss tackles on the try line .Doesn`t drop the ball over the line . Fail to kick the ball out from a penalty. Does not smack blokes in the head . Haven`t seen him knock the ball on either ?

So Kevvie has a magic potion that cures those ills ?

He's more than his cheerleader 😍
