Ashes Discussion

India not only a couple of days ago got beaten quite comprehensively trying to defend a total that I thought they would defend given how ordinary South Africa have become with bat in hand.

No need to panic, they'll create enough chances tomorrow to win the game. Whatever concerns we are all having, I am sure Langer will be having them too and they will come out with a better approach tomorrow.
I think I've still got PTSD from India, England 2010 and South Africa 2008

Don't mean to make it any worse but didn't Pakistan get close on one occasion despite being comprehensively outplayed for the best part of 3 innings?

1st Test in Brisbane 16/17

Aus 429, 5d-202
Pak 142, 450

Aus win by 39 runs

JP Duminy of all people was made to look like a truly great batsman, those were dark times.
Fucking Duminy... might be interesting to see his average against countries because he was the next Don in that series then the next time Aust saw him I think he was bordering on being dropped

I’m expecting a draw or worse here. For a team with a 400 lead in a test match that means so much to so many people; home (Sydney) test, McGrath foundation, fighting for spots, white wash ambitions they are so flat. To me it seems like a lot of the important players are almost sulking at there own misfortunes of results in this game. If that’s the case get the ball to Green and see if he can do something without sulking.

England might have a few pieces falling into place for them to re-build in the short-term here.

I’d go with this moving forward to try and transition into the future:

1. Burns (unless they want to take a punt on another young guy)
2. Crawley
3. Pope
4. Root
5. Bairstow
6. Stokes
7. Foakes (wk)
8. Curran
9. Bess
10. Robinson
11. Archer

I think they need to transition away from Anderson and Broad, feel free to use 1 while Archer is recovering or Robinson needs a break.

Malan finally being punished for one of those garbage cut shots he's been playing to Lyon all series

I'm not sure how to feel about Harris. Should I feel sorry for him that he is just isn't up to scratch or should I feel happy for him that he has managed to get as many tests as he is despite not being able to bat, bowl or field. So I feel...confused.
