India played amazing with both their bowling and batting combined to terrorise Australia. Australia needs to make some changes and definitely need to fix their opening batting definitely.
Preparation hasn’t been what it should be for a Test series.
At what point does the coaching etc get scrutinised?
Yep so painful to listen to... It's because their coverage, including commentary I believe? goes over to India as well.Nearly as glaring as our problems in this Test have been Australian commentators and ex players sucking on the teet of Indian cricket over the last four days..
Shameless ‘simping’ for a seat on that IPL gravy train
Surely we give Neser a go if we want someone who can hold a bat at 8Hmmm...what about Bartlett? He's just hit 50 - has a decent batting record and we know what he can do with the ball.

Jayden Goodwin is probably one we need to consider for a middle order role if we're dropping Marnus (Very unlikely until this series, I'd imagine, but still good to plan ahead).
Last 15 innings in Sheffield Shield he's averaging 43.6, including a combined 208 runs in the ongoing game against South Australia.
Highest scores of 139, 115, 94, 85, 69, 46 & 43 in those 15 innings.
Good stock as well, son of Murray Goodwin.
We've lost our way at the moment. The tail is wagging the dog in Australian Cricket. Players have too much power and they're more focused on their IPL riches than winning games for our country. Grass roots level is a shambles and has been for some time.
We expect a lot of this team because they're so arrogant. We all know best so when they fail we just whack them relentlessly. I don't know if they got the balance they needed between Langer and McDonald. The gentle approach is ok if you can still hole people accountable. Our top order hasn't been accountable for years. Warner got a fairwell summer ffs and they all hate him. They moved Smith to open when it was so obvious he needed to be dropped. Too scared to upset the apple cart instead of making a strong decision for the future of the team.Cricket public tend to overreact a bit- that loss was horrible, but they've lost two of their last 14 series- India in 20/21 and India in 22/23 back to the 2019 Ashes.
I think you're right, they put this pressure on themselves with the new gentle regime and getting rid of Langer because he was too hard and old school.
Fine if that's your go, go see Coldplay instead of playing for Australia but you better win, and they haven't done that.
India turned around 150 and learnt, Australia sometimes seems very rigid and not able to adapt to games.
Australia seemed very passive in Perth; you'd think it was a warmup game before the Test.
Thing is this is it, no one else is worthy of playing a Test, so this 11 has to get out of 1-0 down.

I do not agree. I think there are some outside the team who at least deserve a chance:
- Webster the stand out
- O'Neill
- Handscomb
- Renshaw (not recently)
- Inglis
- Abbott
- Paris
- Chris Green
- Rocchiocholi
- Hardie even to an extent
And then you have the younger guys who could learn on the job (Konstas, Davies, Connolly although injured), Goodwin
India literally had blokes in their first test team who have played 10 first class games.
