Australia vs India - Test Series

Here comes a bloke who needs some runs.

I was just about to give him a wrap and he's out LBW. Still a good debut innings.

Good innings. Left well, defended well. Played Bumrah and Ashwin as well as any of our batsmen have.

I hate it when commentators talk about a slow run rate like they were suggesting with Marnus just now, mainly Australian and I'm surprised Kerry talked about it.

When a batsman has a good innings they talk about waiting for a bowler to bowl where they want it.... so leaving the ball on 5th or 6th stump is 100% what they should be doing.

Also Bumrah doesn't bowl bad balls so the best bet is to try and see him off for minimal damage and make your runs against the other bowlers.

The commentators already fucked up Renshaw's career by bombarding him with comments that he has to develop an offside game. He's now become a knicker that no longer knows where his off stump is.

If a test batsman is waiting for bad balls or likes to score on the leg side leave them fucking be!!
The commentators are right, you’re making it harder for yourself by not rotating the strike and giving Ashwin 30 balls at one guy.

it’s our slowest run rate since 1988/1989 and we haven’t scored a 100 against India since 2017- seven home Tests. 139 batters!

You can’t just ignore that, run rate doesn’t mean 50 off 18 it just means singles and rotating.

Too many getting out for 35, if we took singles those 35 become more than 50 and then maybe 100’s.

Smith looks so scratchy at the moment, I really hope this innings he just stays in long enough to move more freely but that is a big question mark for him at the moment.

Just don’t see how you can risk him given the state he’s in with his concussion issues and given the state of the series.. he will literally have a target on his head from ball one and what happens if / when he cops one on the lid? He’s off retired hurt and probably out of the match.
I don’t know what they’re going to do about Pukovski’s situation..hopefully people with the ability to help can do so and he can have a career at the top level..
this aged well.. mind you, I also described Steve Smith as the cricket equivalent of a rodeo clown about a month or so before he decided to start deep frying every bowling attack on the planet 🤦‍♂️

Why would you wait 50 overs to bring Jadeja on?

Did Jadeja step on Rahane's cat's tail or something?

lol I did the same with Smith, never been so wrong about a sportsman, ever.

He has beautiful balance and picks up the line/length of the ball. Bulls bowlers said after his 180 he had his eye very early.

Like I said last week a few Shield teams put two out to get him hooking and he’s been caught.

He will pick up Ashwin early.
I reckon he will get out lbw a fair bit.
Not that I'm death riding him, I hope he makes the position his own. At 22 we will be along for a great ride

I was always a staunch supporter of Smith, I can claim that one.

That said, I also thought James Faulkner was going to become a gun test all rounder. We all get some seriously wrong.
