In all seriousness this should almost be considered slander and Badel should be held accountable especially as this is not even near realistic.

This is a blatant attempt at creating propaganda to rile up opposition fans to create more stories about how we can fit all these players under our salary cap and create click bait.

I want to know why no NRL club has tried pursuing legal action against Journos when they completely fabricate and over exaggerate figures in a lot of instances which ends up causing the clubs problems with the innuendo that’s created from these bullshit rumours.

Fair enough if it’s in the ball park amount but it’s getting beyond ridiculous now how far they are willing to stretch the truth for the sake of clicks. This is why I try not even acknowledge the exact amount on who is on what as no one really knows. It changes every day depending on the agenda at play.

Apparently Bird is on a million, Boyd almost on a million, Lodge on 800k, TPJ 800k, Flegler turning down 800k/yr, etc. Absolute codswallop. Any fan with a brain knows what is clearly bullshit.

These are the same parasites who claimed years back that Parker would be on $600k+ when in his book Parker actually stated that he got low balled in his final contract as he didn’t want to leave and chose not to have a manager negotiate for him. His final contract was for $280,000k and that was from the horses mouth.

The big takeout I've got from this thread is just how divisive Felise Kaufusi is as a player. Seems to be very little middle ground. He's either great at his role or a complete dud, with no consensus from one person's opinion to the next.

I think he's middle-ish. Mostly solid, occasional excellence, guaranteed mistake.

On current performance I do. Carrigan seems a bit of a workhorse, but that type of player seems to be less and less valuable these days.

yeah i'm with you here. Kaufusi looks good for Melbourne, looks pretty average for qld. Product of the system he plays in.

Mmmm, I've not thought he was a grandmaster nor a novice. I just don't think he's terrible as some others do.

I just didn't find it reasonable to use his selection as an example of Queensland lowering their standards. McCullough I could understand if only because he was stepping in for the greatest dummy half of all-time, Cameron Smith.

Honestly I found it a weird statement to make in general since Queensland prides itself on picking unheralded players and getting the most out of them. Ethan Lowe, Adam Mogg, Jacob Lillyman etc.

Lowe was fucking good as well. Never rated him but was excellent in that game.

Offa was great until his knee injury in that Origin. In fact I thought he was QLDs best forward before getting injured. He was out for quite a bit after that, and didn't recover his from but admittedly it was in a team that had little direction. Those knee gashes are nasty and easily reopen. It's understandable him being a little reticent on his return. I don't understand the criticism he cops from some people on this forum. In fact I think a lot of the heavy criticism the team receives isn't warranted at times.

Back to the topic though. It's great Flegler resigned. He did some really good things, but also some silly things, but he's young and he'll get better for sure. Seibold seems to be doing quite well at retaining players, and/or getting them to join. Lots of younger payers too. I think that speaks to how well the players regard him. Last year was a transitional phase. I'm really looking forward to next year.

Lowe was probably Queensland's best on the night. This happens remarkably often when Queensland pulls a guy out of left field and hands them a debut. It's basically part of Origin folklore now.
