That is certainly debatable. IMO I saw fear in Barba when it came to catching the high ball. He would purposely move in slow towards the ball as to make it appear like he just couldn't get there to take it on the full. Other times his first reaction was to look around and pray that someone else was in a better position to take the catch.
I swear to god I heard him through the TV yell out "yours" at one stage during the panthers game.....
That is someone not confident in being able to fulfil a central prerequisite for the position they're playing. I'm no Boyd fanbot but tbh, I'd feel safer with him at fullback as opposed to Barba.

I was arguing for Milford to be our fullback too, but since that won't be happening it's now an argument about to to be fullback.
And if Bennett is currently as good a coach as some people are saying he is, he should be able to get Barba somewhere near his 2012 form, which is better than Boyds best form.
So therefore Barba should be fullback and Boyd (I'd he comes) wing. And that would be a good scenario for us, we could really use a finisher on the wings and both Boyd and Hoffman are really good at that.

All conjecture. Don't know if Boyds coming, don't know where Milford is playing and where is the rest of the article about WB and his plans for Milford ? Don't know WBs plan for Barba, don't know what's happening with Hannant or even McGuire for that matter, don't know if Kennedy is going to become a mainstay and go into battle for WB...so many unknowns.....looking forward to next year but I might just give Benny a call, ask him myself !

I have read a lot of stuff on Barba being a great attacking fullback but IMO he stinks in defence. I felt when at fb this year his positional play was terrible. So many tries scored against us without him even on screen. I think he will find it difficult to hold a spot in 2015. Hoffman was a far better fb this year and it will be a shame if he leaves.
I would like to see Hunt and Hodges have first crack at the halves with Milford at the back. If Hodges can't make a go of 5/8 then I think he may struggle to hold his spot as well as much as I like watching the bloke. I don't think he has the speed to stay at centre.
If the above ideas don't work then that opens the door for some of the young blokes to step up.

The halves for 2015 will be Milford and Hunt. Bennett has already confirmed this.
On Barba he actually saved more tries than any other fullback this year. If he can drop his bulk, get his speed and confidence back, he could get close to his 2012 form.
And before anyone claims it was a fluke, you don't fluke being top try scorer in the NRL 2 years in a row, you also don't fluke being awarded the Dally M medal.
I also don't believe the Hasler is the only coach in the game that can get Barba playing that way.
Both Barba and Bennett (plus his coaching and conditioning staff) have some work to do in the off season, but if they're successful then we will be a very dangerous side in 2015
