Barba vs Boyd

So you think barba should hang around twiddling his thumbs in reserve grade in case Boyd, hunt or Milford gets injured? **** me you can't be serious.....

Having WB back is the gift that keeps on giving. AP has been given his rasion d'etre back, he gets to post hypercritical posts about
WB at will. The WB fan club sit around blowing smoke up WB's bum. I wonder how many heads will explode around here if we do manage to jag another premiership in the next couple of years under WB's coaching.

I really expect nothing else!

And I wonder how many people will blame injuries, the shit roster that WB had no control over, the weather that one time, the colour of Kim kardashians nails, and the fall of troy, for why the broncos didn't win a premiership if they dont, instead of putting any semblance of blame on Bennett.

You know, again, like they did this year.

More like mid-2012, Fourex.

Whatever the case, as long as people keep it in the appropriate threads, it won't be a problem. Can tell you now, this whole two tribe bullshit will be finished by the end of the year. Anyone who tries to pull that trick will find themselves interacting with Broncos fans on social media.

Back on topic.

Bennett made his mind up the moment he signed with the Broncos. Question is, would he have moved GI on if he was at the club? Doubt it. Then again, if GI was at the club, doubt we'd be in the position we're in.

Come on BP, that's an easy one... he would put GI back at centre of course!

P.S. Do you realise you're just one alphabet letter away from being AP? :aetsch:

The reason for that BP, is that I believe (note everyone my opinion, no empirical data to back this up, no links to post) is that this decision regarding Barba has been made for a number of reasons, including WB's assessment of his playing ability and the prospects of him returning to 2012 form, an assessment of whether Barba's style will fit in with what WB has planned for our playing style, salary cap concerns about having significant coin tied up in a player that is not sleighted to be in the 17 every week, team balance issues with Barba on the bench and finally, and perhaps most significantly, team culture assessments and whether Barba adds to that or detracts from it.

So no, he would not have moved GI on in my view either if a similar assessment was undertaken.

Didn't even have to cast that far to get a bite.

Agreed.

Fans can make all the excuses they want about Barba's 2014, fact of the matter is, he wasn't getting it done.

I've already put my cards on the table, as a fan, would rather see Bennett make do with what he's got instead of moving heaven and hell to get what he wants but most of us knew that the Bennett signing came under that proviso.

The thing is, I can live with it.

Others treated it like a death sentence.

Right now, nothing left to really say nor do than just wait.

Fully agree with that. But do you believe that Boyd coming is a result of this assessment? I don't for a moment... his arrival was pre-determined and conditioned its outcome.

It's a chicken and egg question imo.

it's easy to suggest Bennett was bringing boyd the moment he agreed to return to brisbane, but who's to say he wasn't evaluating the team every week while phoning it in at newcastle?

for whatever reason he's made the assessment and the result is boyd coming here, but whether the assessment facilitated boyds arrival or vice versa, it's pretty much a take a stance and stick to it situation.
