Barba vs Boyd

I beg to differ socnorb. I don't consider the relationship between Boyd and his mentor when I think of Boyds ability or use to a team. It doesn't enter my head nor do I picture WB when I think about Boyd. I simply consider him to be a very good footballer who is just below the absolute top level. He is below and the difference is obvious however he is in the next tier of footballers in my opinion. I think if he comes to the Broncos he will silence many of his doubters but that belief is with the proviso that he continues to get help and is well supported.

It's my opinion, based on what I saw of him in the juniors, what I've seen of him in first grade, even if not in that position, and given the fact that he is already in our books, that Kahu can perfectly fill the role, should Barba fail. That is another factor (not the single reason) why in my opinion, WE DON'T NEED Boyd, who is just another Hoffman, except with worse defense and better passing. Even if Boyd came in to the current roster, I'd still have him behind both Barba and Kahu in my team, because talent and potential wise, they are miles ahead of him.

Agreed. The only point of difference is I'd prefer Boyd over Barba but would definitely take a punt on Kahu over Boyd. He's a bit of a forgotten man in this debate. I really hope he has a place in the Bennett regime. Injuries have hampered his development but in whatever limited opportunities he has gotten, he hasn't shamed himself and actually showed a lot of promise. He could be an awesome player. I want Jordan Kahu in the team.

I don't think most people are arguing whether Boyd would be capable of doing the job (well). In fact, even if he performed at 2010 level, I still would argue he isn't needed, given his price, his relationship with WB, the current circumstances and who we have on the roster.

Because I don't believe WB can be objective about Boyd. I don't see him dropping him, even if warranted...

It is an interesting and difficult situation for all parties involved, no doubt. I mean Darius would feel loyalty to he's wife, and she is a gorgeous girl. Then, his also does not want to break the father/son relationship with Wayne. I think it is a case for Darius of having to give up something he has got, for something he desperately wants.

I can certainly understand Kayla's point of view and her not wanting to feel like a third wheel should they move to Brisbane. I wouldnt want my husband spending more time with another person then he does with me either. I think he's decision is hanging in the balance still.

Hmm, interesting. In regard to Darius, I have heard/read from a few people on Twitter that he's wife, Kayla has apparently given him an ultimatum about moving up here to Brisbane. She has told him it is either her or Wayne and that is it, he has to decide once and for all. If this rumor is true, I feel a bit sorry for Darius and his shouldn't be forced to decide between he's wife and Father Figure, right?

It would be hard..on one hand you have a life partner, someone who you trust, always has your back and shares your every thought . Someone with whom you have the most intimate of moments, who has seen you in the shower and been there when you've wept...on the other hand, you have your wife. Mmm tough decision...

They are saying he will sign in the next few days, so I don't think he has moved on.

Yeah I can't see him as a winger. From 2014 he seems too small and would be easily bundled over the side by bigger wingers when there's only one direction he can step.

If he is in Broncos colours I doubt he would be used anywhere other than fullback. WB did say he was the pick of fullbacks if he was in Brisbane. I also think the speculation that players were moved on to accommodate his signing are wide of the mark as they were ( Kennedy, Hala ) on the outer from the start.

I reckon he'll do alright from the bench, IIRC he started with the Bulldogs from the bench and had a real impact, at the very least he won't be a liability at the back like he was this year and if he shows he's really improved he can play in the starting team, if he still sucks, then I reckon we'll offload him before the third year of his contract which is where he gets a payrise.
