Still can’t work out the logic behind taking the surge so early. Still had plenty of wickets and they still had their best bowlers. Why not wait?

I think you have to be in a comfortable spot with the batters out there or backs against the wall to call the surge.

Heat with two inexperienced batsmen out there in the final and letting them call the surge probably wasn't going to end well.

Tell them at the 10 over mark to start swinging because they've set a good base for the rest of the team to build from... send Hain in when one gets out and then let him decide when to call the surge... from there send in Bryant, Bazley and Neser... if shit hits the fan at least Peirson is there to see out the innings
