Actually, Billy is the only one of those 3 who wasn't sent back to Cup and was guaranteed a starting role at the club, by his father. He was also, as @theshed pointed out, the least talented.

I’m not sure how serious you’re being but I would find it funny if people think I have an actual agenda against Billy or Kev. Kev is one of my favourite ex players and by all accounts the nicest guy in league. He also happens to be the coach of the team I support so him being successful actually works in my favour. The same goes for Billy.

I just think that they’ve both proven to be very average at their current roles. I’d love for them to prove me wrong because I’m not going to be mad about having a good coach and hooker.

Capewell is the exception not the rule. It’s probably not fair to include a guy who just turned 23 either. Hoeter is a great comparison though I will admit - and he’s a 3rd string depth option as he should be, which Billy is not.

a) Everyone understands being the Broncos bench hooker is effectively the same as starting, especially when the coach rotates his hookers for 40 minutes. You might not have noticed but the bench in professional rugby league is used for interchange, not injuries.

b) This entire conversation has rotated around the dilemma we found ourselves in where a player as bog fucking ordinary as Walters could be our "best hooker." Obviously - except to you - he's no longer our best hooker, because he's not even contracted to the club.
