Didn't Walters only last 10 minutes in his opening stint? Whereas Smoothy only came off for a small stint and had to back-up in the backrow?

I don't think it was a fair indication considering even Billy struggled even more despite the team having more possession during his stint. However I take your point that Smoothy didn't force his way into the 1st XIII on that performance. I also agree it's in his best interest to bide his time because the Broncos have the toughest opening two weeks of any team and he'd be on a hiding to nothing.

For what it’s worth, Denan Kemp has fairly strongly suggested Smoothy would be his first pick.

Just listened to that. You have to hand it to the media for how much they can tiptoe around a steaming pile of elephant poo in the room without once mentioning the elephant.

If everyone in the media, from Fox down to old boys podcasts like Kemp, keeps saying the Broncos have a problem at hooker but act like there's a brick wall there stopping anything from happening, what kind of conversations are happening at Red Hill?

Billy was unbearable. Even when he was fresh on the field he threw it about 6 feet over Ahearn (???)'s head. or 6 feet behind Mam. It was gross, he was a total handbrake in attack. At least Paix threw it out in front of the halves.

Just out of curiosity, how much worth would you put in that opinion?

Also the biggest takeaway from this game was Smoothy was out on his feet after less than half a game. What exactly do you guys think is going to happen when he plays against a first grade team without quarters?

How much weight would I put on the opinion of a guy who’s played the game professionally, in the team being spoken about, and has made a small media empire based on sharing his opinion of the sport multiple times a week for the last few years?

It’s not gospel but it’s worth a hell of a lot more than most on here.

WTF is up with Billy running from dummy half making a half break but never linking up ?
Frustrates the shit outa me . Every game he beats the markers then dies with the ball .

I really hoped the #1 or #13 would practice following him when he runs . But apparently not .

He isn’t fast enough to make an actual break and he isn’t skilled enough to link up with anyone. Plus he does it at poor times so most of the team are setting up for a planned play which Billy kills by running it. Usually on the 4th so someone else has to do his job for him and pass it to the kicker

I'm surprised (considering your recent turn of leaf) that you've missed the point, Big D was trying to make.

Nobody is there for him to pass it to, when he does decide to run. Do you think CSmith gave everyone a great big nod when he decided to run.......the players in the ruck have to be aware. Your fullback should be hovering around the ruck until late in the tackle count.....your no.13 similar. Soley waiting on a dummy half run chance.....

Indeed......but I find it hard to accept that BW is saying **** you to Reyno..... if he's called the ball, as often as you're suggesting.
