COMBAT Boxing / MMA Thread

While I am somewhat excited to see SBW v Hall in March, at least far more than most of Gallens fights except for the Huni bout, seeing ticket prices at 1k+ for ringside seats is ridiculous for two non-boxers.

I think when the UFC had Adesanya Main Eventing here, ringside seats were in the $750-$850 range and that's for elite athletes.

As much as SBW is the deserved favourite due to Halls age and lack of experience, Barry can definitely give him a run for his money if he can get his fitness up.

SBW arguably lost to Botha in 2013 due to gassing out and lack of head movement and was in major trouble near the end of the bout when it controversially ended a few rounds short of what was advertised, with Sonny suspiciously taking the decision on points.

Ngannou vs Jones in talks for Jon's return to the Octagon.

This might be up there with my most anticipated fights of all time.
I dont think Jones deserves an immediate title fight, but this would be a killer bout regardless.

Possibly the most non-PC, all out batshit crazy interview I've seen, dude really went all out... I think even non-MMA fans are grabbing the popcorn for this interview.

Love his say anything approach but if this lunatic wants a title shot he might need to be open to being censored.

That last minute or two is slightly disturbing though..

Cmon Bobby Knuckles.
Rob by KO in the 2nd.

I'm hoping it'll be a great fight!

I'd like to see Rob get the W, but it won't come easy and he'll need to get in close or get Izzy to the ground.

Rob winning just makes the division more interesting otherwise it’s getting a bit stale. I’m torn on who I’m going for in the bam bam Derrick Lewis fight.

If anyone wants to see the fight, you know what to do.

Was stoked with the win to Tuivasa, he's a legend.

Main event went pretty much as expected, Rob was more disciplined than last time, and made it a good contest, but Izzy was never in any danger. Just a class above in this weight division.

Tuivasa is a beast.

Izzy is the only fighter i have seen that makes Rob fight timidly.
I guess Izzy is just Robs kryptonite.

Yeah Izzy just had that massive reach advantage and is just as fast too. So it’s not easy for Rob to get close and he’d also be worried about the counters.

I'd like Rob to move to 205, I think he would beat everyone in the division, his skills are elite, just can't handle Izzy. I think that's the only way he will fight Izzy again, as Dana will make him win at least 4 more times at 185, and will turn him into the gatekeeper.

There are some big hitters at 205. Izzy looked a lot bigger than rob and when Izzy fought Jan there was a size difference there too. Could rob make 170 again?

Rob needs to cut to 185, he has said he will eventually move to LHW. Izzy looks bigger because he is so much taller and bigger reach. Styles make fights, and I think Rob beats Yan and Glover.
