1- Kodi Nikorima (I really think he could emulate Matty Bowen there)

4- Darius Boyd (he was very good when he played there imo, both defensive and offensively)

6- Jack Bird (would make our right side much more solid with Gillo in the middle, with the added bonus of getting more ball)
7- Anthony Milford
8- Matthew Lodge
9- Andrew McCullough
10- Jo Ofahengaue
11- Jaydn Su'a
12- David Fifita
13- Matt Gillett (we need a solid experienced player in the middle of the ruck, and would benefit from his ability to offload and play ball)

14- Alex Glenn (covers almost every position bar prop, and is good cover for the second row)
15- Tevita Pangai Junior (shorter powerfull stints would provide heaps of impact)
16- Payne Haas (same as TPJ, but can build him up for longer minutes as he matures)
17- Kotoni Staggs (like Glenn, can play almost any position bar prop and is good cover for the backline)

Taga, Mago, Savelio all probably could interfere with the above, but I have doubts they will, unless Seibs thinks differently.
Carrigan and Flegler will get a look in soon enough I reckon.

Kahu (hate to leave him out, but he just can't beat the starters imo) would be next in line for the backline, although Staggs and the newcomers from Yawnion may have a say about that...

Pretty stoked with our roster, taking into account our one weakness (halfback), so I really hope Milford continues to improve hsi kicking game without neglecting his running and passing game.

Good call, but I'm not that keen on 'Taga, Mago and Sevelio...interfering' with that line up. Sounds illegal.

I read an article a while back saying Jamil was travelling well. May also be time for Funaki to shape up or move on, he has been in our system for a couple of years now.

I enjoyed the fact that Funaki had the balls to stand up to McGuire during training. A couple of punches were thrown which is silly, but you'd assume McGuire provoked it.

He's definitely an enforcer that wouldn't be shy in first grade.

standing up to McGuire at training means nothing if he isn't first grade standard.

and he not only needs to be first grade standard, but be of a better standard than the other quality forwards that we have in our squad

Ok there’s some ridiculous shit coming up now. Funaki is nowhere near the standard of middle forwards we have on contract.
This might sound crazy but maybe we should sign a backup hooker. Macca is the current Qld hooker and we haven’t signed Turpin for next season yet.
We are also in danger of playing a big fat front rower on the wing over state of origin if we get a couple of injuries so maybe we should wrap up one of these union backs that are trialling with us.

I think we need to pick a side with two frontrowers at least on the bench, be that Haas and tpj, or (especially if we are using tpj at lock) a mago or tagstese with them.
Glen or staggs for utility value would fill the 3rd or 4th bench spot, depending on whether tpj plays replacement prop or 2nd row/lock replacement.
If tpj is used as a prop it frees a spot for a replacement hooker, fifita, or another young forward (carrigan?).
It all starts with two bench frontrowers we can rely on to carry the momentum. Taga is a big chance, given our lack of them.

I'd prefer we did both but I'm guessing we won't do either. Segs would be too expensive and an up and comer would need to be retained in the face of other offers. Good junior hookers sound like they're thin on the ground.

It was possible till the part about Smith getting sent for constantly being in the refs face, pure fiction, probably even more chance of my Scott Minto coming out of retirement then that happening lol
